Holy crap. I'm going to have to get the airbrush out for this one for sure! I just saw how they did the assembly on the back of the spider there (Thorax?) and that's gonna piss em off when I have to get to that point. Good luck Geoff! I'm gonna have to start up my own bloggy thingy for my orcs too. Are you doing a full blown OnG army, or did you just pick up the spider for something else?

That.... is a cool model. Really impressed with the quality of the GW plastics. Those sculptors, er -- computer guys are really earning their 2 pounds, 15 pence. Very Happy

The digital sculptor, I think it's Nick Hedstrom(??) who did the Sapce Hulk mini's (Retardedly good... some of the best mini's I've ever held from any medium!) doesn't do any traditional sculpting anymore, he's just fully committed himself to doing computer 3-d sculpting. And he is getting damn good man. From what people tell me the biggest hinkg about designing for plastic is a knowledge of how the molding process works and not leaving big areas called undercuts that just look awful. Unlike resin or metal flexible moulds the steel used for the plastic mould requires much more thought for desiging your mini's and where the moulds will join. I am assuming it's the same guy doing the work on these plastics now and they're great.

I'm still amazed how big that sucka is everytime I see it. The plastic kits coming out are just getting better all the time. Its good days for us mini gamers.

Hey Geoff, glad to see you start your own project blog.

Cool model, I can't wait to see it in person. I might have to pick one up, think it would be fun to paint.

This time I am working on the new VC's, still thinking on how to base these though, I was thinking about pillars in some ruins or something.
