Thanks guys, the camera for some reason makes the reds look a little more vibrant than they really are but I'm happy with how it turned out in real life. I did some more painting last night and I got the face painted and glued on. I didn't take any pictures because I needed to do some greenstuff work after gluing the face on and I'll likely have to re-do a lot of the work I did on the face because of it. Once I get it all sorted out I'll post some pictures.

How come you picked the face that got shot by a cannonball?

Son, you's got a HOLE in your face!

It's my favorite one! I just liked the glowing effect from behind and I wanted to try and see if I could replicate it. I'll try and finish it off tonight and post some pictures so you guys can tell me whether or not I succeeded.

Got some more painting done. I'm getting close to finishing off the front half of the model, I'm not looking forward to the back. It has way more detail and little fiddly bits. As always, let me know if you see anything I could do better or differently.

Finally spent some more time painting. I got the right arm painted and a second coat of the base done on everything else. This guy is slowly coming together.

As always, let me know how I can do better!

the wood effect looks quite good, I'd try placing some lighter points around the highpoints to make it pop more.

I should employ a hand model! I'm trying not to rush it. Hopefully I can finish it just in time for it to be unusable in age of sigmar. I've pretty much finished all the big stuff now, I just need to work on all the thin branches and whatnot on the back of the model and then build a base for it. Maybe I'll hold off on the base for now, this could end up being my first round-based model.

This statement coming from a Cattle farmer/ Heavy mechanic. Rolling Eyes

I would definitely wait to base this Treeman. I haven't painted a single model because of this. For some reason I'll be ok if I have to rebase my HE, but I'll be PISSED if I have to rebase my TK.

Whelp, I finished off the treeman last night.  I'll post some overall pictures of him once I figure out how the hell to base him.  The pictures I've already posted pretty much sum up the paint job on the model, the last little bit that wasn't done is just more of the same.  Not sure what to paint next, I've got some mounted yeomen for my bretonnians that have been languishing in painting limbo for a while, they're already based using rectangular bases so maybe I should slap some paint on them as a farewell to Warhammer as I know it.  I also have a dark elf master on dark pegasus conversion that I've been neglecting.  Maybe I'll finish both those projects so I can start fresh if/once I decide to jump into Age of Sigmar with both feet.

I'm not excited about rebasing any of my armies, I might actually just start fresh with something new and leave my existing armies for when I get nostalgic and want to play 8th edition. This treeman might be the starting point for the new force.

I went ahead and glued the peg master together, I'm pretty happy with him. I've got to do some green stuff work on some of the joins and whatnot but I think I achieved what I was shooting for.

Let me know what you think.

I started basing both the treeman and the peg master. I'm going with square bases for them (rectangular for the treeman) because round is just too weird for me. I'm aiming to have the treeman done sometime next week. The pegasus master shouldn't take long to paint to match the rest of my dark elves so I may have both done before the end of next week.

Bases literally don't matter. They could be on moon shaped bases. All measuring in done to the model in Age of Sigmar.

I spent some time on the Freeman's base tonight, then I got out my other treeman to compare, then I got sidetracked and started adding treeman kit bits to my other treeman to make it match with the new one. Here's as pic of the two side by side. Let me know what you think:

I got both treemen painted up and based. I'll try to get some good pictures tonight. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. Next up is the Pegasus Master.

I'm also going to be in the market for a few Fenrisean Wolves, 3-5 to be exact. If anyone has a few lying around I would be interested in taking them off your hands.

Here they are. I think I'll call them the bash brothers.

The lighting was kinda weird and I got some pretty harsh shadows behind but hopefully you can see the paint jobs ok.

I spent the evening organizing the various boxes/drawers/army cases/closets that are home to my fantasy stuff. I didn't get it all sorted but I made some good progress and found some things I didn't remember that I had purchased. I now have a pile of things that need to be repaired, a pile of things that need painting and a pile of bits for each army. Once I finish I may have some stuff for sale or trade. Mostly bits and pieces probably but I'll also probably have some whole models. Stay tuned!
