love the enthusiasim everyone is showing for this. I'd help out with funds too if need be. Also, we need to bring a camera and take some shots for the forum. Maybe a dedicated topic for club events?

I don't want money for this, it then opens up all sorts of issues as to who's terrain it is and where it should be kept. This way I can decide! That said, Trevor do you want some money for the styrofoam you supplied? Embarassed

I'll post WIP pictures once I get a little further along, right now it is still pretty rough-looking. Hopefully after this weekend I'll have it all cut and glued and ready for a photoshoot.

Don't worry about money Nathan. I donated it to you for the event.

Here's what I've managed to do so far:

The cliff on the left needs a layer or two still but you get the rough idea. I need to pick up a sheet or two of styrofoam tomorrow and some more batteries for my hot wire cutter then it shouldn't take me long to cut our the rest of the cliffs. After that I just have to do some spackling and paint the things!

The pink gate of Tor Cheerio spans between the pepto bismol cliffs, defended by the silver shadow warriors of the unpainted kingdom!

The elves will defend the peptones bismol cliffs with their last breath. Or get an upset stomach trying...

I've only got 1 more set of cliffs to go, I laid out everything on the floor in an area that matches the size of table we are going for and it is massive! I think we are looking at roughly 11,000 points per side so it's going to need to be a big table but seeing it to scale was a bit eye-opening. I may need to make a few more terrain pieces than I had originally planned, or possibly just up-size the last piece.

I cut out the last of the cliffs last night, I'll be gluing them and doing some finer shaping tonight. After that its on to spackling them so they'll be ready for paint. I'll take a picture once I have them all glued and in their final form tonight or tomorrow night.

I also painted up a banner for my dragon princes, I just need to find a way to magnetize it so I can swap it in and out as needed. Alternately, if someone has a dragon prince model that they aren't using I'd be interested in it.

Holy smack just seen these. Looks awesome. I have a bunch of hobby grass stuff if you want. How about battle mats? I have one I can bring.

The battle mats might be a good idea since we'll need to put two tables together for the game, the battle mats would hide the join. Of course you'd need more than one battle mat so you'd still have a join to deal with.

After I took the picture I put some spackle on some of the hills, that step goes pretty fast. I should have the rest done tonight. This morning I took a look at the ones that I did and they came out even better than I'd hoped. I put the spackle on pretty thick and it cracked in places which gives it a really cool texture that I did not expect but looks great. Hopefully it sticks ok, it wasn't completely dry yet this morning but it seems to be pretty strong too so the terrain should be durable. I think I'm going to add some sand in places to get some different textures as well. I am well on my way to being done and I still have a month to go!

I decided to take the night off last night and did relatively nothing warhammer related which I'm sure was a big relief for my wife! I did add some sand to one of the spackled hills but that's it. Tonight I'm going to go hard and try get some stuff done. I may actually try painting the sanded/spackled hill and see if my plan for painting is going to work. Stay tuned...

I finished off the spackling tonight, I'll let that dry overnight. I also put some sand on a couple of the pieces that I had spackled earlier and I started painting the smallest piece.

The big piece, the spackle goes on pink and dries white.

The smallest piece basecoated black:

Here's the finished product:

Last night I painted up one piece and basecoated another one black. I also did some more spackling to make the cliff and wall match up better. That should be dry tonight and I can continue getting stuff done. I have yet to start building the ruined wall but that should go pretty quick once I've got everything else done.

Once I get the terrain done I still have to paint a few minis including the orc siege catapult and crew. After seeing Carson's Rock Lobba, this one may not be quite as impressive a model but I'll do my best. I've embellished the really old metal rock lobba with some bits from the tower and chapel kits as well as a few other pieces I found laying around. I still have a few plans to make it more substantial so we'll see how that pans out.

Here are the 3 finished pieces. The other two are base coated black and I'll hopefully get them done tomorrow or Thursday. I'm going to build the ruined wall before painting up the wall and gate, they'll use the same colors so I might as well have them both done before I start painting.

That should fit nicely into your growing terrain collection. I think this mega battle should be very sharp and will be a great showcase for our club.

I'd like to play on the table exactly like it's set up.

And what the hell is it with you and penis symbolism?!
