Empire, what is too much fire power

Just added a Empire army and putting a list together and what to know what is too much fire power

i have 5 units that can fire weapons

32 Handgunners - could make a hoard if possible
16 Archers - as scouts
10 Crossbowmen
6 Outriders
1 cannon

but would like to add another cannon and helstrom rocket battery

so what is too much and what is fair

i would say you could ad as much shooting as you want, but it will not win you games with no more half points for units and what not. i know that my curent list has a lot more shooting than that. also a hodre of gunners is not really viable.

The Empire REALLY rely's on whittling the enemy down with shooting before combat......as once your in combat things are a bit tougher to say the least.

Your shooting is fine but 32 handgunners is not very viable space wise and is a bit of a points sink. Go for a mortar for sure.....big template and no partials makes it super good now.

I agree, the handgunners would probably do better in 2 or 3 units of 10 or even as smaller detachments to your infantry units. The rocket battery is interesting, you don't see many of those around. Cannons are a pretty solid choice too. As for amount, I'd say that 1/4 to 1/3 of your army should be enough shooting. Too much more and you have to make too many sacrifices with the other phases in the game (magic and combat).
