Commission work for Smackman/Tom

Post  ScottRadom on Sun Aug 01, 2010 2:25 pm

Okey Dokey, Smackman/Tom has asked me to paint up three mini's for him. I am going to put all the details and stuff I can into this post along with pics for a couple of reasons.

-I will never remember what colours and stuff I used on things like the bases and such if I don't write it down. May as well put it here so Tom can use the info when he paints the rest of his army

-I like doing it.

So I am going to paint 3 mini's for Tom, and I am also quite horrified as I have two lizardman mini's for Dana Madsen I have forgotten about and he gave them to me OVER A YEAR AGO!!! So I got those to work on as well. Off to paint.

Nothing to see here folks....

Base

-Basecoat VMC Grey Green. Add full strength wash Devlan mud. Diluted VMC ORange Brown, Diluted GW PUrple wash

Flesh

-Tallarn Flesh base. VMC Black Red shade. Tallarn flesh again, mix with P3 menoth white a couple times, add P3 menoth white highlight a couple times, pure menoth white. Add VMC USA Olive drab shade to eyeline, cheek recesses, temples, under ear thingies. GW Purple wash 4:1 water glazed twice.

Eyes

- Straight black with white reflection. Tried a blue gem effect and it looked gay and retarded. Back to black.

Hair
-VMC Black Brown base. Wash straight GW Black wash. Black Wash again to lowest light points of hair.
