Flames of War?

Post  nathanr on Wed Apr 07, 2010 4:44 pm

So I saw some people playing Flames of War the other day and I thought it looked like a pretty cool game. I wouldn't mind trying it out, does anyone here play who would be willing to show me the ropes?

yeah, Bob Scott, Dana, Stash, and myself all have FOW armies. It is a great game.......what 40k should be. If you like historical stuff it is the premier WWII game.

Nathan, if you try it and like it talk to me. I can set you up for a pretty decent price. I've got a couple painted armies I could part with and LOTS of still in the box stuff. Reminds me, I owe Bob 5 T-34's!

It's an awesome system. Smooth, flexible, and elegant. I really like it! There are one or two points I hope they tidy up in a third edition but I'd give it an easy 90% for awesomeness on the system.

Sweet, that sounds really good all around. I'm in no real hurry Bob, but I will take you up on your offer to teach me and if I like it I will take you up on your offer too Scott!

I'm interested too boys! I would love to learn this game as well if anyone would care to teach me.

I know the post is pretty late but I've been watching so much history channel I just feel like I need to try this.

I've toyed with this too as I'm a huge WWII nut. But I thought, do I really need another game?

Maybe I do! Very Happy

Anyone who is interested I have a TON of stuff for FoW I could sell swap. PM me. I have a fully painted mid war winter german panzerkompanie and a mid war late war American Tank company as well as tons of unpainted stuff. I just don't game that much anymore. It's an AWESOME system. The best I have played for sure.

This is totally off topic and completely serious. Scott, why don't you game anymore? You'd be such an asset (again) to the community. I don't mean to call you out, but man it's a total shame you're not around.

C'mon mate, spill the beans.

I'd like to get out every now and again, but painting is my go to guy for hobby stuff now. It sucks, 'cause it's a solitary kind of thing. I'll make it out for a night or two this league and sign up. I promise!
