I don't like seeing empty bases, causes confusion and can lead to misunderstandings. Use a fig that comes close to the unit it represents and then put a label next to it telling us what it is.

ah, no empty bases please!

If I get to play I'll be bringing the Empire with Balthazar Gelt for a special character.

well what i was planing on doing was to have a chariot unit with one chariot in it to repersent what they are and then just have the basses right beside them.

at the cost of sounding absolutely retarded/ mean/ stupid (or whatever you think it may be) my planned list includes a whopping grand total of 45 chariots and one very special character, Settra the imperishable.

so you can see why I was planning on using basses. please let me know if this is fine before i go buy the settra model !

I would really not like to see empty bases at a tournament. Heck, I wouldn't like to see them in a league game.

And this is coming from the guy whose army will be unpainted...

I'm not a big fan of it either but I can see why you wouldn't want to buy all the models for that army. You should ask around and beg borrow and steal as many chariots as you can, I'd rather see non-tomb king chariots or unfinished or unassembled components of chariots on the bases than having them empty.

Even if you could make things that almost sort-of look like chariots if you look at them in the right direction and light it would be better than empty bases!

If you have the models to field a regular tomb kings army, you should definitely go about it that way. Empty bases is definitely a huge negative.

Your taking away alot of game satisfaction for any of your opponents you come against. Its a very visual game, alot of the stuff we love about the game is how cool things look on the field. If you've got the invis bases going, it's almost like your robbing yourself and your opponent of a bit of the experience. With a tourney, everyone is paying money to show up and I would be hugely dissapointed if it was against alot of empty bases.

Now, if your having a friendly game against a buddy and want to try out 45 chariots.. why not. That just my two cents though.

If it were up to me (it's not) I would not allow empty bases. Part of the joys of a 3000 point tourny is you kind fo take what you got and see what happens.

I'm VERY particular about this sort of thing. I don't even like proxies. If this is the case then all you need is abunch of figs, all the army books and you're good to go.

I could go for a beer (or two) after the tourney as well. Too bad you can't make it to the tournament Scott, some day you will get back into the gaming side of things.

You know, I'm starting to think Scott is just scared to face me.

I travel hundreds of kilometers to play my nemesis and he always manages to come up with an excuse.

But that's okay I spose, if I at least get to be in the presence of his greatness as he consumes Saskatoon's beer supply I guess I'll be happy.

Is anyone meeting for breakfast or anything before the tournament? I could really go for some Jerry's breakfast tomorrow! Also, I am proud to say that I will have a fully painted and based army tomorrow. I just have to put the finishing touches of flock on it tonight!

I don't know, 8:30 or 9? I think Carson said we should be there by 9:30 so that would probably give us enough time.
