So any more takers? Carson and I can go. But if it's just the two of us, I don't think I can justify the expense. My primary motivation is to go and get drunk, and Carson and I can do that here just as well (If not better!). I'd love to hang out with the Wade, and catch Kieran if we're able.

Anyone else? Getting hammered in Calgary IS fun.

I'm going and I think one more from Moose Jaw is committed. All we can draw from 2 cities is 4 guys?! Holy crap this hobby is in big trouble....

Yeah, I just can't justify the expense or the time this year to haul out one of the armies that I have painted. Sorry guys.

Hey, has anyone even heard from the Kieran?

In terms of expense, I think Jessop may be interested in joining a carpool, and worst case scenario, a couple of blow up mattresses and sleeping bags and 4 or 5 people could crash at my place.

In a dramatic turn of events I believe I will be attending the tournament now. I will be heading up on the Wed. to see Arman van Buuren, and just stay for the tourney.

I'm super out. Can't afford it right now! I had a loooooooong conversation at work and turns out the future for me is less cash infested than I would hope. But other stuff is falling into place maybe. So again, super out for Radom.

So no Scott, and now no Don either? Carson, are you still coming? I'm pretty much only playing this weekend because the saskatchewanners were going to be there.

Wade, drinks are on me next time. Rob and Alex backed out - which wouldn't have been a problem but my daughter will be here that weekend. My ex switched weekends.

It's seems it's either my boss or my ex sabotaging my Warhammer weekends. I couldn't even post when I found out as I was so pissed that I would have just sounded like a raving lunatic.

yeah sorry guys, I'm not making it either. It just didn't work out, disappointing for sure. Let us know Wade if a another "good" tournament in that area is coming up.

Don, your just gonna have to plan a trip up to my place for a weekend of games. Maybe the slackers from Saskatoon might even take it upon themselves to make it out here!

I was actually going to ask if anyone was willing to do that. I still remember 'Radomcon' and now we can have 'Carsons-last-name con'. I'll bring an army and Rum. The rest of the weekends in Oct are bad for me (see previous posts). Anytime after Nov 1st is good.

Well Mr. van Buuren put on a hell of a show. I skipped 4 classes, drove 6 hours, probably lost 30% of my hearing, but I figure it was worth it. Even had 2 different shit kids ask me why I was so serious. Totally awesome show.

So now I'm in town, in Calgary until Sunday. Gotta find something to do. Wade? Paul? What are you guys up to the next couple of days? Give me a call or a text or something at 292-8509.

Damn it. Come all this way, stay two days, and Custer doesn't have a plan for an odd number of players. That's pretty disappointing.

How can that even be possible? That is unacceptable.

Give me his address Eric, I'll take care of this...

Yeah F that S.

What if I had driven up just for the tourney? I mean sure I didn't pre-register, but I bet there weren't more than 16 fantasy players - well short of the limit and there was specifically an option to register at the door so to speak, so what the hell?

I went and they didn't have a spot for me, despite only having 16/24 fantasy slots filled.

They let a bunch of 40k players register instead.

That's what went down.

Fuck Calgary.

so an out of towner was turned away? WTF?

Something you never....never do is turn someone away from out of town. Registered or not you find a space for them. Hard to believe Kuster would do that. I kind of soured on the idea of attending after I really thought about wether it was worth the 70$ entry fee. Way too much IMO.

Well that is dissapointing, did 40k at least fill all the spots? As frustrating as it is, I can see Rob filling all the spots if he had people willing to give him the 70$, but was there some extra room and he still turned you away?

I had my money in my hand.

The info I had seen said it was $70 registry at the door. This, to me anyway, implied that you could actually REGISTER AT THE DOOR.

Sure I was taking my chance that all 24 slots would be filled, but I had heard that they weren't even close, so I wasn't worried about that.

Then I get there and go to give him my cash and he just tells me to wait because they had a bunch of extra 40k guys sign up that morning, so he converted some of the fantasy tables, which weren't filled, over to 40k.

Then in the end, it's an odd number of people for fantasy, so he just says "sorry" and out I go.

So there was some unused tables? That's poor, and not characteristic Rob Kuster. Shame.
