Brent's Phoenix Knights

Here is a few pics of my work in progress 5 strong unit of Phoenix knights (i like dragon princes but dont fit in my themed phoenix guard themed army).







My idea was to take some guardsmen and cut them in half and use old 5th ed. metal silverhelm legs and a little green stuff to rebuild the cape.
I plan to use them for either helms or dragon princes. More then likley dragon princes as the stat line is the same with +1 Attack, and 2+ save and of course minus the 4+ ward.
So far as I have just got them up here in northern BC I have yet to paint them when I do get to it then I will post some pics

Brent, Any progress on these? Let's see some finished models!

New pictures. And It only took a month
I picked up some paints on Thursday and started painting, figured I would get some done as it was the first string of consecutive days off I had in well since I posted the previous pictures. My local store was not open this weekend so I could not go back to grab the few colours I want for the mounts but the riders are done. Enjoy










Some of the the models need a little touch up but I figure I can get to that when I get the mounts done. the conversions thus far I am happy with the painting is mediocre at best. Not to terrible for not picking up a brush in about 3 years.

Holy crap! I just think I've inspired a great idea in which I'll a bunch of dudes with moustaches and plaid shirts using hooked pikes as lances, rolling into batlle on ginat redwoods! Viva les Boucherons!

They May be gay, frolic to and fro
But are not as Gay as dwarfs
At least there is lady elves, and not some dwarf named Bubba

A typical elven style attack on the dwarf's sexual orientation, sing a song about it! Tough to figure out how elves maintain their less than uber-manly reputation.

Nice try though, keep up the... uh... songstuffs.

I really like the conversion! As for the gayness of elves vs. dwarfs, I have both a dwarf army and a wood elf army. I've had multiple people who don't play warhammer say "warDANCERS?!? Thats gay." I've yet to hear someone say "Slayers are so gay". Just thought I'd throw that out there.
