Wyrd mini's Guild Executioner

Post  ScottRadom on Wed Jul 29, 2009 8:38 pm

This is a mini from Wyrd mini's. They have a game coming out in August that looks fun. I thought I would post this as I think it's my best mini ever, and I am quite proud of it. Doesn't mean I won't take a little CC though!

Oh, but you probably wanted painting criticism...

Hmmm, he looks like he's a little miniature alive person. I love the detail on his "treasure trail".

Dude, amazing work as always.

Sonsofbitches! I wish it was a self portrait 'cause then I'd claw you up Wolvie berserk style!

Super proud of that fig, and it even got compliments on the metal from Automaton (Sebastian Archer) which is awesome, as I was ripping off his article on metalics when I painted my dude. Super fun day!

Very nicely done as always Scott. It is a cool miniature and the tones on the skin is great. I was wondering if the metalics were NMM or is the automaton guy have another secret. The metalics are very well done as well. Always look forward to your new figs. Man this forum is full of great painters and converters. Very Happy

Very nice Scott. You'll have to organize a painting and photographing night in your garage sometime so you can give us all some tips! Who knows, a game or 2 of Warhammer might break out as well.

You always pick the coolest models, can't wait to see what you come up with next.

That's an excellent idea. I would drive up for that. I could also show you guys my awesome tech on how to procrastinate...if I had time.

We could do that. Tell you the truth though, I feel a bit wierd about trying to show how I paint. It's different being proud of what you do and another thing to think you're goo denough to tech people. I for sure ain't no big gun in the painting world!

That's fair, but I know I learned something when I came over that one time to paint, mostly I learned that I don't have the patience to put as much effort into painting as you do! I also found that the brushes that I've been using for most of my painting are way too small! After painting at your place I picked up a #2 size Windsor & Newton brush and I've been using it pretty much exclusively except when I need the really small details. Those are the kinds of things that I wouldn't have ever learned by painting by myself. Plus it expands the league to include all aspects of the hobby and might finally encourage some of us to finish (or start)painting our armies!

Well that's cool to know! I use a Number 1, a zero, and a 3/0 for eyeballs. Also the airbrush for basecoating sometimes.

Couldn't we just use this as an excuse to drink Rum?
