Scott vs. Carson
I didn't want to jack Carson's thread, but here's my finished troll. I didn't enjoy painting him too much, actually.

Well rub my balls, that came out pretty good! Why didn't you like painting it?
Those pictures are fantastic, are those the 250 watt bulb/light thinga-ma-bobs?

Yeah, the pic's are witrh the bulbs. What I didn't liek about the model was that it was an experiment in painting a different way. I started the flesh from the mid-tone and shaded down then highlighted up rather then working in layers from darkest to brightest. That part was good, and I learned a bunch. but that was the first half of the model. I still had to finish off all the fiddly stuff.
Also, one huge complaint I have on the sculpt is the eyes are teency tiny. I like to use the eyes of monsters like this to help keep the draw on the face. I don't know if I accomplished that. So that's part of it.

I don't really want to jack this thread.....but I'm gonna'.
Scott, you mentioned somewhere about the painting DVD's; Privateer Press, the Jeremie Bonamant stuff, etc... Is it worth buying those DVD's or should I just keep viewing the clips on youtube? Do you have them?

Jack away!
Kraken editions "Painting Miniatures" by Jeremie Bonamie Thibault (?) is awesome. You can usually order it for 30$ and it's worth every penny. Better then youtube? Probably, but your call. Also it's only one style of painting your getting but it's very comprehensive.
Privateer Press is a rival company to GW. They make hordes and war machine and the model I painted. I don't like 'em, or their figs.
