I am leaning towards using Nathan's van (cuts down on fuel).
3 rooms (no cots, everyone gets a bed) $120/night plus tax this keeps our cost at the $150 range per person.

Yep, that sounds good to me.  $25/person should be good for fuel in the van but I'll keep track and see how much fuel actually costs.  If everyone is riding in the van I vote we leave around noon on the friday.  We can meet at Andre's as it is close to where we want to leave the city anyway.  If you don't want to leave your vehicle on the street I can pick people up, let me know.

i'm in...looking forward to the excursion....I have been told I snore but I think those are baseless lies spread by enemies. Twisted Evil

Fair enough, but I can assure you - no one will touch a Purple Jeep. Wink

I accept that all Jeeps were created equal Wink

But yes a direction arc with our club name would be cool. I still dont have one and lost my gold one from the old GW set

What do you want to see for veil tokens? They should probably be fairly simple so I can print out a dozen or so per person.

Would one need that many? How many tokens would a person realistically need each turn?

What about objective markers?  Might be more useful since most people just use dice for veil tokens.

I could maybe make a slider or something rather than tokens for the veil tokens, are we giving these away to our opponents at the tournament or what?

Objective markers would be very helpful imo. Maybe even more so than Veil Tokens,

You would need 12 only because that is how many you can get with the cards and channels. You can only keep 3 at the end of the magic phase and 6 max other wise but you can get up to 12 when you siphon the veil. So would be easier to show what you are doing, take 3 tokens add 1 dice, repeat until you are at 3 or below and then keep those near you wizard or w.e

I like the idea of the objective markers, heck giving them to our opponents is a great way to make our group seem like A+ dudes. Plus all the sportsmanship scores Wink and if one of you guys scoops up best painted. We might just clean up this event haha jkjk

Anyone have any good ideas for objective markers? Should they say "Ravening Hordes" or something? What should they look like? I just have black filament right now, should we paint them? Are they to give away or for us to keep? How many should I print?

Max objectives is 3 right? I like ravening hordes and # them.

Honestly I like the idea of solid. Black and if we just like put white or dip it some how just to get the raised areas you know?

What do you mean "solid"?

Something like this:

or something like this:

Or flames of war style:

Or something different altogether?

Sorry was supposed to say solid black. was on my phone and it autocorrected it weird.

Honestly i like both ideas, but i think the FOW style ones would lay flatter on the table? I like the idea of the tall statue objectives people use but i find they fall and move position too much when moving units around them.

If we do a FOW style objective we don't need to 3D print them.

I'm thinking your the best one to decide on style Nathan, I'm good with what you come up with. Would be nice to have ravening hordes on it though.

Re: Onslaught 2018.

OK, here's my perspective from all of this.  Lots of people saying things like:

"Any thoughts on getting some ravening horde club veil tokens printed up"
"Veil tokens or a smaller counter like the turn counter would be cool."
"I love this idea."
"Tokens or Direction Arc's...That is cool."
"a direction arc with our club name would be cool."
etc.

But nobody is providing a lot of substantial information.  First and foremost, how many am I printing?  If we're giving them away and keeping them then do I need to print 12 for each person (3 to give to each opponent and 3 to keep)?  That would amount to about 100 objective markers.  If I'm printing that many I'm going to design something vastly different than if I'm only printing 10 or so.

Next, I don't want to be a dick but what kind of compensation are we talking about for this?  I'm going to be spending hours of my time designing and printing these not to mention filament and printer wear and tear.  Granted my time is cheap and I've got filament to spare but I'm not going to do it for free.

Lastly, if I'm given complete creative freedom on this you guys are going to have to live with the result.  When the time comes I don't want to hear any complaints that you don't like the anatomically correct (or slightly exaggerated) male unicorn objective markers that I've given you to hand out.

Seriously though, I think 10 sets is a good start. Or twenty if we want to keep a set and give out a set to fave opponents? Marked #1-3 with Ravening Hordes on it? The issue may be the other fellow won't use other club tokens or they'll just make their own if it says Ravening Hordes? Definitely a set for each of us that say Ravening Hordes. Another set for best opponent that Just says "Objective 1,2,3". I really don't care too much how they look - unless I don't like them. Very Happy

Of course we'll pay. How much do you think it'll cost to do 30-60 tokens? You've never donated your time to Charity before? Wink And where's my T-Rex skull?

Conversely, tell us what you would like to charge us and we pay you out of our pockets for the service and material. Would you think each set would cost about $10?

Totally valid points Nathan, you do do alot (ha i said dodo) and should be compensated, if i had a set for myself and a set to give to each of my opponents i would gladly pay, and fuck em if they are soooo cool looking and say ravening hordes then they'll keep using them, and will remember the crushing defeats we handed them along with the lovely markers,

Love the idea for Objective Markers and thats my vote.

Side note again... Tshirt... How many monies.
