I would do that, but we have been pretty short on players as of late. I'll try to break my leg or something so I can't play but short of that I don't see this tournament happening for me. If anyone is looking for a warm-up game on the saturday beforehand or possibly even a doubles game against my brother and I let me know.

I haven't been around much since December as we bought a house in the city to get back to civilization, and made the brilliant decision to go to Vegas and get married -- all at the same time.

Do not do this.

Ever.

I'm absolutely wasted (figuratively and literally), from the last few weeks. We're mostly moved in, and I have a garage now, so I'd like to return the favour of the "Radomcon" sometime in the summer.

Anyways, There is a Hall of Heroes in Regina the Saturday before this tourny on the Sunday. Is anyone interested in the trek? I've already booked time for that weekend to do both. Heroes on Sat, "Den" on Sun. I may just drive straight to the 'Toon Sat night, get a hotel room and be done with it. I've barely painted in the last 2 months and rarely played, so I'd like to get back into top shape of being an almost mediocre player.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to painting something...

Since we'll be doing the UKGT scenarios, players will have to bring 2 objective markers of some sort for the objective scenario.

Tourny

As for scoring, I really like the "rate your opponent" style of sportsmanship where you have to rank your 4 opponents with someone getting the lowest score and someone getting the highest score. It ensures that the best sportsman wins the most sportsmanlike award instead of everyone giving out 5's and the decision of the sportmanship prize being chosen by some sort of tie-breaker. I also like the "rate your opponent's army" idea because it separates that from sportsmanship. That could also be done on a scale where you have to give someone a low score and someone a high score. I think all that needs to be done by you Carson is to give "the speech" at the start then walk around giving sage advice.

I am really looking forward to this tournament! I read and like the scenarios and I think I might even be able to convince my brother to come out! He gets pretty competitive though so watch out for the uber-brettonian army!

I like the idea of a 4,3,2,1 ranking of opponents for both sportsmanship and army comp. I would like to put forward that a person has 2 bonus points to give out for what ever reason(if you so want) but has to be justified. This to reward the person who has done more than just show up and play, who has gone above and beyond to make the game a good one.

I'll be there. Dwarves will be my choice(Scott says they win always), unless I bring Chaos or maybe Dark Elves. Might even break out my Empire "shot and steel" army (heavy cav, cannons and handguns).

Saw this on the Direwolf forum:
No, there was Comp scoring. Kind of a hybrid system where you answer three
questions for one point each, then give your opponent 1-4 additional
points. 7, obviously, is the highest score possible, and you were only
allowed to give one 7 all weekend.

If I remember correctly, the three questions were along the lines of:

1. Did my opponent have equal or fewer points in characters as I did? If he
did, he got one comp point. If you were close (50 points, I think?) you
both got the point.

2. Did my opponent have equal or fewer minimum-sized Core units as I did?
If he did, he got one comp point.

3. Was you opponent's army WYSIWYG?

So a mandatory "check the boxes" part where you compare the two armies that are playing, and then a subjective "what I really though" component.

I like this. Kinda backs up what you score.
