Regeneration vs fire

Post  nathanr on Thu Sep 14, 2017 10:58 am

So I'm playing Carson's rats tonight and I hate regeneration. How worth it is the flaming banner? I don't want to put something in my list that's only good against one or two armies. Is regeneration/flammable prevalent enough throughout the armies that it would be a useful thing or am I just custom-building my army to fight Carson if I put it in?

I totally wouldn't put it in😀
I've thought about it in various armies but I always wonder how often I would use it.

If it were 10-20 points it would totally be worth it but for 45 points I'm now giving something up to include it.

It's a super common item in lists and I usually only include it when I have a shooting unit that can take advantage of it. You DID mention that you hate Carson and his regenerating bull***t, so pondered taking the item specifically because of him. Wink

I actually see this item in a ton of lists and can't understand why it's THAT popular. The unit that has it (unless shooting) has to be maneuvered to the unit that has regen, and in the age of open lists that would be pretty tricky.

I'm thinking it is included in so many lists primarily for the Nurgle daemon lists.

I've been using it in my lists but less so for dealing with Regeneration and more because I like the Alchemy magic Path Razz I read that 2.0 will be changing it to a one use only item though. Did you end up taking it?

I had to take Lori into the hospital, she ended up with a problem with her gall bladder related to her diabetes. I'll be heading back up today...

I've seen my fill of hospitals this last while with my mom and wife.

Very sorry to hear that Carson. My strength goes out to you, Lori and the rest of your family in dealing with such situations. I hope all things regarding swing to the positive side.
