March Jobber '17

Post  ScottRadom on Sun Feb 26, 2017 7:11 pm

Okey dokey! March madness might catch us all.

I am planning on taking a break from the Orc Blood Bowl team and working on a robot for this is not a test, a stand of DAK infantry for FOW, and either a plaguebearer or Chaos Warrior for my slow going Nurgle project. But progress none the less!

1. Scott -TnT Robot, 9th age Jobber, DAK infantry stand

Who else is going to keep it going?

I haven't finished my February commitment of a unit of dwarf longbeards yet.  I doubt if I will get it done though as I haven't started it yet so I'll commit to getting it done in March.  In the next couple of days I'm going to paint the BSB for my Empire army.

So kind of went a different direction and just finished a Ogre Kingdoms Pirate Maneater! The goblin forced to be the parrot is 100% my favorite thing about this fig.

Looks great Sean! I basecoated 23 longbeards tonight. Armour will be painted tomorrow night and beards Thursday. With any luck they'll be done by the end of the weekend.

Thanks guys! Definitely was a fun model to paint! I think the Ogres will be very colourful and fun, I love all the Maneater figs. Im not 100% convinced on the skin colour yet tbh. Looking forward to seeing how u do the beards Nathan, Beards always stump me. How is the greater Daemon coming Don?

I think the skin is my favorite part of the whole paint job Sean. If you can replicate that on a whole army of ogres then it'll look great. The maneaters are the best models in the whole Ogre range for sure.

Looking forward to seeing how u do the beards Nathan, Beards always stump me.

As for my project, the beards are going to be a no-brainer. They're greybeards so the beards will be painted with whites and greys. Easy Peasy. If I get ambitious I'll try to tint them slightly so you can tell what colour they were before they went grey.

@ Nathan, super sorry dude, i didnt see this thread change colour to tell me about a new post lol.

Maneaters do rule, and thanks nathan! i'll wait to make a decision until you guys see it in person. But brian likes the skin too.

OU tinting the beards would be soooo subtle but would make a huge effect i think. But it could end up that me and you are the only ones who'd notice now that you've told me haha. The grey's do make sense for the greybeards Wink genius with a capital J

Thanks Carson! Slowly learning little new things from everyone that helps. Me and Brian actually bought one of the dry brushes you recommended Carson and not gonna lie, made a HUGE difference in our dry brushing.

I've painted up 10 longbeards and that's probably going to be it for my painting in March. Didn't get the 24 done that I said I would so if that means I owe someone something then so be it. I'll post pics of the finished dudes tonight hopefully.

Here are the longbeards, I can do about 2 a night, 3 when I'm in the zone. I'll keep plugging away and we'll see where we end up by the end of the month.

Now those looks good Nathan! Love the script in on the book on the standard. Good metal colour choices, that part always gives me a hard time then i end up using to MANY metals.

How did you do your bases? Green stuff or? The fig that is front and center is definitely my favorite. Good pose and great paint

Thanks guys, yes bases are greenstuff.

The champion and the runesmith are older paint jobs but they'll go in the unit so I included them in the picture. The champion got a new hair and beard color to match the unit.

I was going to paint a Highborn Elf Mage, but I just found out that I'm running a trade show all day and night from Wednesday to Saturday evening. Getting my March in may be tricky, so I might be buying someone a fig. I'll do what I can....maybe just take fig and paint at trade show. Very Happy

I have 5 guys left to paint and 9 shields. I'm playing a game with Andre tomorrow night and going to a concert Friday night. I'll see what I can get done Thursday but if not I'll give someone a fig as well.

I finished a bunch of mini's that have been sitting in my neglected to do pile. I did a couple Heresy Plaguebearers, a couple chaos warriors, a DAK stand, and my TnT robot. PRODUCTIVE AS A MOTHER!!!!!

I Didn't really bother with snapping pics, just 'cause.

I have a half painted HE mage that I'll probably never use anyways. Who do I owe a fig to? Very Happy

I seem to paint enough models in one month to last 4 challenges, but crap the bed in the next month and only get half a fig. Life is funny.
