Recruiting 8th Ed and Other Previous Players

Post  Kal on Mon Jan 23, 2017 3:59 pm

So this came up during the game with me and Justin. He simply asked "whats different" and my first response was well "nothing" followed by an immediate ... and "everything" so like IF you were to try and recruit previous players how do you pitch The 9th Age? Like what do you guys feel is your 5 pro's / con's or just biggest changes in 9th when asked?

Big Changes:

Point Value
Magic
Parry
Warmachines

BALANCE

That is the #1 selling point of T9A for me. In Warhammer you had to wait years, sometimes over a decade for your army book to get updated. In T9A things are constantly being tweaked to ensure the most balanced game possible.

FREE!

The rules are free, like ZERO DOLLARS!

Then just tell them it's like 9th edition Warhammer fantasy. And like other Nathan pointed out it's much more balanced than Warhammer ever was.

Nathan A. brings up a great point I often forget. It's free. You have models?

Play game.

I just sell it as 8th edition that finally got around to the errata.

Totally good point Nathan R. Also one I brought up.

And haha I totally forget its free all the time too Nathan R ( ok seriously next order of business the Nathans get nicknames!) but free is a good point, you played 8th? Try it for free and fixed.

Good point Don, 8th with a global eratta

This thread is 100% not aimed at Justin fyi. He was just the last 8th player I talked to about 9th. This is just how to in general drag back old 8th players. Just making that clear, we had a good solid game with his rats but I still want my rematch Wink
