Empire of Sonnstahl

Here's my list for the Empire army I'm building. This is going to be a long work in progress so don't expect to see it on the field anytime soon.

Characters:
Knight Commander - The Sonnstahl, Dragonscale Helm, Plate Armour, Young Griffon
Marshal w/ Battle Standard - Great Tactician, Blessed Armour of Frederick the Great, Charm of Cursed Iron, Great Weapon
Prelate - Star Mace, Armour of Destiny, Barded Horse
Prelate - Hero's Sword, Shield, Armour of Fortune, Dispel Scroll, Barded Horse

Core:
11 Imperial Cavalry - Cavalry Hammer, Shield, Full Command
11 Imperial Cavalry - Cavalry Hammer, Shield, Full Command
10 Light Infantry - Crossbow

Special:
24 Imperial Guard - Great Weapons, Stalker's Standard
3 Knights of the Sun Griffon - Halberd, Full Command
4 Knights of the Sun Griffon - Lance and Shield, Full Command

Imperial Auxiliaries:
5 Reiters - Heavy Armour, Brace of Pistols, Musician
5 Reiters - Heavy Armour, Brace of Pistols, Musician

Imperial Armoury:
1 Cannon

4999 points, It has some shooting and some magic from the prelates but the main power of this army is in the 5 combat blocks. When I feel like it I can swap the Imperial guard out for flagellants and the prelates out for one dude on an altar of battle.

This will look very cool. Put everything else aside and get this army on the table. Smile

It will hit hard, the trick will be to not get caught in protracted combats with the knights!.

Ha whats with you and mounted units Nathan!!! Seriously Wink drop a big ol horde of some sonabitches in the army! This mine as well be your bretonians all over again Razz or your all mounted Dark Elves... Whats next ?!your attempt at an all mounted dwarf army (which i fucking know you'd do if you could)

IMO This list is gonna have a BAD time against some Lethal Strike Spears Wink but loooks fun,

why are the Demi's equipped differently? JW as id probably have the General in the unit of lances ones with the better save rather than the 2h halberd ones. But what the fuck do i know.

I like cavalry. Hordes of infantry don't appeal to me. If they did I'd be playing goblins or skaven. The knights have halberds so they should fare ok in protracted combats. Especially because they have the prelates with them. The demigriffon knights have different equipment because I wanted the ones with the general to be able to get stuck in and continue to do well with their halberds past round 1 no then the other unit can slam in on the next turn with their lances. Also it saved me 30 points which went towards a magic weapon on one of the prelates.
