2500 Point Battle Reports

Alright boys, i got pictures of my game with one of my non existent opponents! Took pictures and everything, definitely doing alot of work to keep convincing you guys these fake people exist. But anyways it was 2500 points of Brian's Lizardmen vs Sean's Tomb Kings. This is our first attempt at pictures and a battle report so any suggestions would be appreciated and possibly ignored (possibly not). So here i go

So turn one we just lined up across from eachother, nothing special. I will try and go through the units starting on the Tomb King side working top to bottom.

Necrosphinx, 30 Tomb Guard with Prince, 19 Archers with lvl 2 (behind), 50 Skeletons with Prince, 19 Skeletons with lvl 2, Catapult (behind), 8 Chariots, Battle Sphinx

Raptor Riders, Ripperdaytcles, 6 Croxigors with Croxigor character BSB (scary stuff), 25 Saurus (attacking in 4 rows), 25 Saurus (attacking in 4 rows), Skinks with a lvl 1, Lone Lvl 1 Skink, 30 Strong Temple Guard.

I got first turn here so i just moved everything up a little, shot a bit, i had TERRIBLE magic phases all game, like honestly he ended up with more dice then me twice... not whining but Black Cube with Dispel Scroll is HARSH, i think i got 2 spells off all game. I am definitely going to have to start bringing a dispel scroll... gonna be ONE OF THOSE.

So we forgot to take a before and after picture here but if you can see, the Necrosphinx charged and killed the Ripperdaytcles, which at the time i thought was awesome but all it did was take my non marching slow moving sphinx WAYYY out of combat and he never saw action for the rest of the game. and if you can see bottom that GIANT unit of chariots bounced harmlessly off the Temple Guard.

Now as you can see he charged me and obliterated my Tomb Guard, and most of my Skeletons. and No more Chariots. My caster miscast an unimportant spell and both wizards took a wound and i lost all my dice.

Again i love Tomb King but they NEEED magic, this is the turn he ended up with 7 dice and i got 6 (black cube i lost a dice and he channeled) So i failed to cast a power level 6 spell rolling a 3 +1, then he used his Dispel Scroll on my only other spell so no magic in the ONE combat phase i needed it. So as this picture shows the 50 Skeletons have poofed, the Tomb Guard are down to a banner and a wounded Prince, BUT the Battle Sphinx CRUSHED the Temple Guard and sent them running

This is his turn following the brutal massacre from the turn before. as you can see my mage lines got pushed and he slaughtered both units of archers EASY. the Prince actually killed his BSB but the Tomb Guard unit was dust at that point. Again both Sphinx's (out of frame) were WAY to far away to help

With mages gone my army crumbled BADLY, this was taken at the end of his turn 3... after this was my turn 4 i rolled for Crumble lost the 3 skele archers, the Battle Sphinx had two wounds on him and i rolled a 12 and he crumbled. then the Necrophinx rolled an 11 and took 3 wounds and the Catapult rolled a 9 and with a LD of 6 he poofed as well. at this point i had a 2 wound Necrosphinx and a 1 wound prince left (not even the general Prince!) and he has everything you can see here still (note the lone lvl 1 still running around in the top right corner) So game was over with Brian removing all the bone from the table.

This was a fun but brutal game and definitely showed me how badly TK needs magic to survive, but with the new rules restricting you to only being able to gain 1 additional dice every magic phase i dont know how i can help my magic other then more wizards to make sure i get the channel? My lvl 4 wizard can take a 50 point soul magic ability where every one of my phases my opponent always gets 6 dispel dice and i get 7+d3... i might try this because that will make sure i always have minimum two more then him and max 5 more then him (with a channel)

(im such a nice guy i even let my imaginary opponents beat me)

You know Sean, all I see are figs and a table......no actual humans in the pics......

Carson, You are going to have to come down to Moose Jaw 1 of these days and have a few games with us, I was going to come up last weekend but I recently got a second job for saturdays and sundays only, so there was no way they would have given me time off to come hangout with you guys. Ryen was going to go but he was a bit intimidated and backed out.

This was a good game, Sean showed me how to make lists that aren't so gimmicky and I haven't lost since, even when I made a high elf army for my sister, and showed her how to play!

Thanks for the giant battle report Sean. I need a point difference though. There are a bunch of levels of victory now so for me to give you an accurate score I need numbers from you.
