Ok this is my 1625 List that is 100% built and primed green minimum. Working on the Metal Tracks, infantry guns and then washes little at a time. Also going to paint the base edge different on the Infantry to tell the difference and the Tanks have Tracks for one squad and bright red gas tanks on the other. The command isnt as unique as i'd like right now. Anyways gonna try this out, from what i understand assaulting will be hard for me?

Canadian Armoured Squadron HQ
2 Sherman V

Canadian Armoured platoon
2 Sherman V With .50 cal
2 Firefly VC With .50 cal

Canadian Armoured Platoon
3 Sherman V
1 Firefly VC With .50 cal

Canadian Recce Patrol
3 Stuart VI

Rifle Platoon
1 Cmd SMG team
1 PIAT team
1 Light Mortar team
6 SMG team
3 Ram Kangaroo APC with .50 cal MG

Rifle Platoon
1 Cmd Rifle/MG team
1 PIAT team
1 Light Mortar team
6 Rifle/MG team
3 Ram Kangaroo APC with .50 cal MG

Confident Veteran - Platoon Count 5

Now i need to have some games!

That looks great. No artillery is bold but with veteran tanks you can't necessarily have everything. 3 fireflies will do well and your infantry are great as well. Play some games and figure out what you like.

The uneven platoon count is tricky also. Stuarts are cool, but expensive recce. It'll work though!

Ha thanks guys looking forward to actually playing this game! Razz I do have universal carriers, Just haven't built them yet. And im painting and settling on this until the new edition updates. Figures why worry until then. But this will get paint!

The odd number of fireflies kept bugging me but I thought 4 was to many and 2 not enough. Then I realized I glued up a Sherman turret not a Firefly turret and my decision was made lol. But I will buy artillery once the new update hits, IF I need it. But if I don't need need it I dont want it. If im struggling ill man up and get some. Love the idea of the infantry blocks rolling up in APC's with the Shermans.

Sean - before next tournament let's get a few games in so you can develop some battle plans and tactics.
That being said let's take stock on how well you did do:
Game #1 -> According to Don and Nathan I went for the easy meat - which I don't think you were/are but according to them I am a good player and I had an awesome list - you still managed to 'steal' a point off me netting me a 5-2 win - which was almost a 4-3 . This is my 11th tournament in a year's time. You did fine - I have had easier games against my wife Wink

Game #2 you faced Jason who had narrowly lost to Don in round #1 and who went on to beat Dana (Dana is a very good player). Note this is Jason's second tournament but he has been to a bunch of events in the past six months. Jason and Alex play quite a bit as well and it was Alex who beat Don in round #3.
Game #3 you faced off against Sean Froc - two year's ago he was at Masters (North American Battlefront's Invitational Tournament) so he knows his stuff. His list had the biggest FV British platoons I have ever seen and you had your best score of the day losing 3-4. Well done.

Do not for one minute think you had a bad tournament - you are at the beginning of a large learning curve and the more games you play the easier it will become. Also, if I may suggest go with Canadian infantry instead of Canadian Armour. It is almost exactly what you have except your 1ic and 2ic are infantry (they also survive easier) giving you a lot more points, ability to have a sniper, and option to night attack. Just my two cents.
And why a sniper? - snipers wreck artillery - yes, one 50 point guy with a gun typically kills a gun team a turn and almost always pins them. Yeah....pretty easy to wreck my list believe it or not. Also, does wonders against a 6 pounder or Volks list as well.

Note - my wife plays Finns (one of the hardest lists to beat) most people don't like playing her

Hey guys, not meaning to ignore these comments just there has been so much posted i didn't know where to start.

That list looks very similar to mine but with more goodies, i agree that making the 1IC / 2IC tanks definitely made them more vulnerable.

I definitely don't think i will be touching FOW until V4 is out. So no worries i dont plan on making any drastic decisions on selling the army until i try out V4!

V4 is out this month - the books are supposed to be here next weekend but to be sure we are doing a big roll out in three weeks.

Played V4 with Ram Kangaroos and while they are not as good as Sherman Kangaroos the Canadians with their Land Mattresses are fantastic! Looks like I will be shelving my PanzerLehr

Do V4 lists still require artillery to be viable? Either way I am probably like 90% selling at this point. I'm a Fantasy player, ill stick to reading about WW2 I don't need to reenact fake battles of it. Plus the game frustrates me. I understand a Stuart cant fuck up a Tiger. But I should Beable to pew pew the tracks off or RAM IT! Get the tiny Stuart chassis all jammed up underneath it haha. Hell on Tarawa the Japanese knew they couldn't destroy the Shermans so they settled for blinding them by sniping out the parascopes all the time. Hilarious haha. I'm back to rambling / complaining haha

I know its dumb but if i'm playing a real game, give me realism. If i'm not playing a realistic game give me dragons or let my Sherman beable to kill a Tiger, if i roll a 6, 6's in a row! SOMETHING. It seems to cherry pick realism.

I read that land mattresses were barely used in the war. But they shot like 4 rockets a second or something! Very cool,
