Off-topic-ish question: Are either of you planning on coming up to Saskatoon before the 23rd? If so, can I get one of you to purchase 4 British 25pdrs? They come 2 to a blister so it would just be 2 blisters.

No, don't worry about it, I've got some on order at the Den. Hopefully they'll show up.

It's not like that at all, my daughter has her birthday party next weekend then the weekend after that is the FOW tournament. Between now and then I've got 8 swimming lessons to go to, 6 hockey practices, 2 taekwondo lessons, and 4 soccer practices for my kids. And I work all those days too. It doesn't leave much time for gaming.

Come play three games!
- it's a fun day
- it's only $5.00 (promise you an awesome return rate!)
- it will teach you tonnes more than any 3-12 home games
--> there are quite a few with only a few games under their belts

I agree, no place better to learn the rules than in a tournament. One thing to keep in mind though Lance is to pair new players up with more experienced players, especially with the first game. Last tournament I got paired up with another guy who knew the rules even less than me in the first round and I'm sure we got a lot of important stuff wrong.

I try to actually do pairings at even skill level so guys don't get stomped on and become discouraged. And for first timers - if I can - I usually try to play them myself. But, sometimes we have a few too many new people...
But - great point!
Thanks

Not gonna lie, looking over the list and actually googling some of the units im pritty damn excited now. Looks like i got a bunch of different toys to play with, which is exactly what i want. Tanks excite me the most obvi, but foot soldier CANADIAN have to be something to fear! *grrr*!

If that list was made by Nathan, that's exactly the list I would have made. Exactly.

I actually think I prefer my confident trained list better than this one. I just get so much more stuff. Basically it is the same list but with an extra 2 6pdrs, 2 more PIAT teams from the company command, armoured transports for the infantry, and some M10 3" SP AT guns. Of course, they get hit easier because they are trained.

I think pound for pound the list Nathan posted is as close to an all comers as you'll find. I play CT tanks and they are a world away from veteran tanks. It's not an issue to me as I'm playing to have fun, but veteran platoons are MUCH better.

Sounds like Nathan should play Soviets. Very Happy

ha before i read your post Don i was literally thinking he sounds like he is talking like a rusky. MORE IS BETTER COMRAD

I think i like this list, im not necessarily looking for more. Just a bit of everything. im sure ill have a few games and realize i love how these preformed and hated how these did. such is gaming Smile

If I may suggest the following:
1. Night attack if you can
- this allows your infantry a Spearhead move before the game begins
- you are the attacker and the onus is on you to take the objective(s) allowing you to 'control' the game
- in most missions the attacker has all is troops or gets reserves instead of delayed reserves
2. 25 pounders:
- These are for pounding infantry or guns teams that have not dug in (the firepower is terrible)
- These are for smoking big cats or in preparation of an assault
- put them on an objective they have a ROF2 so are great in defensive fire and counterassaults
- they are on Turntables = not so great for those people who thought they could flank you to assault
3. Wasps
- are not Recce
- must 'slow' down to 'flame-throw' & disappear once they do
4. Tanks
- Semi Indirect is great but it can slow your advance
5. UCs
- are Recce
= reveal GTG units first so that your direct fire teams can paste the enemy
= reveal Gun teams so that they save as a gun & not an infantry team
6. Have fun!
Yes, have a good time!
