I'm going to make a serious effort for this. Pretty excited actually as I'd like to play more FoW.

So it's gonna be a FoW weekend. The Friday night Nathan and Carson are visiting, I have Steve from Moose Jaw coming over to play FoW. We'll set up a couple tables and shoot tanks, so you can leave your Warthrone army at home Nathan. It's WWII all the way!

This looks like a tough company to shift. If you go up against another infantry company and you are forced to be the attacker you might struggle as you don't have a ton of mobility but that is true for most infantry lists I think.

yeah for sure, It will do really well against some opponents but I'll struggle as an attacker in some situations.

Threadjack!!

I don't think I can realistically have my Soviets painted in time so here's my 3 choices.  Please offer advice and criticism, but I will probably ignore both.

Here's my smart list:

Lorried Rifle Company

HQ
Command
Lorried rifle platoon - 9 bases, piat, mortar, rifle/MG
Lorried rifle platoon - 9 bases, piat, mortar, rifle/MG
4 Comets
4 Cromwells
4 6 pdrs
Armoured car platoon (recce) Daimler X2, sawn off Daimler
Limited Typhoon

6 Platoons (plus air), 1775 points

My "everything is already painted" list"

B Squadron - 15th/19th Hussars

HQ
1 Cromwell, 1 Cromwell CS
3 Challengers
4 Cromwells
Lorried Rifle platoon
Armoured Recce Daimler X 2, Sawn off Daimler
4 25 pdrs
4 5.5 Artillery

6 Platoons, 1775 points

And the one I'd like to play, expecting zero wins:

Armoured Squadron:

HQ
2 Comets
4 Comets
4 Comets
Lorried rifle Platoon
4 Humbers (recce platoon
AOP

4 Platoons, 1775 points

I like your lorried rifle platoon "smart" list. But your B-team list looks fun too.

I respect the ignorance of criticism, props brother. I think your armoured squadron will get gang raped, but the A and B lists both look solid.

quick pic of the first panzer IV70 (v) I need for the tournament

I tried a new camo scheme that the Germans used in late 44 to 45.

If it is a Dixie Air Support - which I think is only available to Road to Rome units (and Americans)

Re: Tournament: January Preparation - @ January 23rd, 2016

Post  squalie on Tue Dec 29, 2015 11:20 am

I'm down to these 2 lists:

B Squadron - 15th/19th Hussars

HQ
1 Cromwell, 1 Cromwell CS
3 Challengers
4 Cromwells
Lorried Rifle platoon
Armoured Recce Daimler X 2, Sawn off Daimler
4 25 pdrs
4 5.5 Artillery

6 Platoons, 1775 points

This one gets me my Comets though...

HQ
lorried rifle company HQ

Lorried rifle platoon (9 bases, piat, mortar,) transport trucks
Lorried rifle Platoon. (ditto)

4 Comets
4 Comets

4 6 pdrs
SAS Jeep recce platoon (.50 cal on one jeep)

6 Platoons
1775 points.

My brain is telling me to pick the first one as I have to paint noting and it has the mighty 5.5's in it. My gamer brain is telling me to play the Comets, but there's a bunch of painting involved. Sad

I looked at my list and I'm 1 infantry platoon too many. It still has a shit load of infantry mg stands though.

I'd go with the first list Don.

Ya, I think I will. I'll have to paint 4 Humber recce vehicles and the army is done. Laziness is fun!

Nice, I still need to start painting mine. Hopefully I can get motivated. Otherwise I'll be bringing my airborne armoured recce.
