Just some things I did for Kings of War

Post  Brian on Sun Sep 06, 2015 11:47 pm

Hey guys, I heard you guys may be considering playing KoW or Warthrone. That's great! I will be preparing armies for both! Right now I am going to show you a couple examples of multi-basing I have made in the last few weeks.

Okay first example, and this is a good one because it shows how you can kind of improvise a unit that you may not have all the pieces for.

This is my Drakon Rider regiment which means it consists of three dragon riders on 50x50mm bases. When I first thought about how i would make this unit I had two problems, the first being i had no mounted dragon riders. Well that was an easy fix, I had a couple of these ancient GW Blue Dragons and I always really liked the look of them so being able to use them was great! So I put the dragons and the riders on individually to make it look like they were maybe tending to the dragons when the call to battle came in. The second problem was simply that I didn't have enough dragons. Well that's easy. I wanted to strongly suggest that there are three able bodied Drakon Riders coming for you, so i added a third guy to kind of indicate that the third dragon is there he just might not have been capture in this scene that I am portraying with this diorama.

This one is just a regiment of of bowmen (20 figures 5 by 4). The only problems I had with this unit was that the old GW archers didn't rank up well, so I put the minimum eleven on the multi-base. Ten of them kind of defending a "sacred" tree, and one champion reassuring them this is a fight worth fighting.

This last one is just a Prince on a Drakon just an individual model that will be apart of this army.

I just want to point out that I know that these aren't the best paint jobs. I'm kind of rushing so i can actually have games with them.

Well that's all for now thank you for reading! If there are any questions or suggestions don't be shy to say whats on your mind, and if anybody lives in MJ and wants to have a game of KoW just ask Sean or I and I'm sure we can set something up. Thanks guys!

I'd like to have a game of Kings of war so I can at least see what everyone's talking about.

It's a fun game, simple and quick. You can easily have games were you need 2/3 wins to be declared the winner. Also its a modelers dream.

Also the the "Kings of war fanatics" facebook page is run by some of the guys that wrote the rules for some of the armies so if you ever have a rules question you just have to post it and you will get your awnser straight from the horses mouth which is nice.
