Onslaught in October

Post  nathanr on Wed Aug 26, 2015 3:34 pm

Onslaught in Edmonton is happening October 24th. Warhammer Fantasy was going to be 8th Edition with no End Times.

I am all registered. Here is the link if you want to do it too:

http://edmontononslaught.m.webs.com/site/wrap?url=http://edmontononslaught.webs.com/apps/documents/&back=http%3A%2F%2Fedmontononslaught.m.webs.com%2Fsite%2Fmobile%3Furl%3Dhttp%3A%2F%2Fedmontononslaught.webs.com%2Findex.htm%26dm_package%3D1

So far the following people have shown interest:

Nathan R
Don
Andre
Frank
Carson
Nathan M
Dwayne

Now Andre had mentioned that his wife might be coming along and if that happens then the two of them would be driving up together. Dwayne also said something about driving there on his own or with some other friends.

Here is the other thing. My wife has expressed interested in going so that she can hang out with her sister-in-law. That would put 6 of us including my wife in my minivan which is totally doable but we'd have to get creative with how we pack our armies. I'm also not sure how many people my brother and his wife are able to accommodate. I'll figure it out and let everyone know what the deal is. Kieran has said that he can take 3 but we should maybe confirm that with him before showing up on his doorstep.

I'm going to try to make it happen, if I do I'll drive the minivan again.

Done! This may be the last one ever. We need a good road trip!

depends if you get off your ass or not.

I'm in on this depending upon the supreme commanders approval. I shouldn't admit to this but I'm just keeping it reals.

You can do it Don! Seriously, if you don't have an excuse to paint that army it's never going to happen. For me, going to take my Wood Elves. I've taken high and dark elves to the last two so I might as well complete the trifecta.

The statement so pathetic you had to say it twice? Your man card is pending review - just so you know. Wink

Check the first post for the link. Once we get a head count of who is going for sure I'll check with my brother about crashing his place. Or we can book a hotel.

pull a Carson? I'm hurt, dismayed, and wrongly accused.

Yeah, I've been known to do that.

I am already signed on for this too. Amongst us in Edmonton, we're considering doing army swaps for Onslaught. Might even get my wife to choose my army list again, instead. At my house, I can extend lodging for 3 well-behaved fellows.

Sounds like it could be fun, although army swapping just makes me feel all anxious inside. I'm sure people would treat someone else's models with even more care than they would with their own but it's like having a stranger watch your kids. Plus, as this is likely the last 8th edition Warhammer tournament I'll be playing in I think I'd like to do it with my own models.

Signed up and Paid. Now lets see if Don can finish the project he's been working on for 3 years :\

Also ewww army swaps. Booo , Boo Wendy Testaburger. Would that not just encourage people to pick the worst stuff knowing that they A: Would not be playing with their army and B: Know that they will be getting likewise love from the maker of their army for the Tourney?

Ok, so we've got Myself, Don, Carson, Frank and possibly Andre? The van is full if we get one more. Technically it seats 7 but there is no way we're seating 7. Also, fitting all the armies is going to get creative. We can do it but it'll be creative. I guess we'll deal with the situation when it becomes critical. For everyone taking the party van, I'm going to charge for 3 tanks of gas split evenly. It'll work out to $40 per person if there are 5 guys. I spoke to my brother and between him and Kieran we should be able to accommodate everyone that comes in the van without the need for any hotels.

Sweet! I'm going to vote that we give Nathan $50 each if we're saving hotels. I will happily pay more to not drive. Very Happy Somebody pester Nathan McDonald to go, he's been hiding too long.

Public shaming?! You've resorted to public shaming?!?! I'd be offended if it wasn't so accurate. Very Happy
