tooncon 2015

Post  Mhael on Tue Mar 31, 2015 6:45 am

So the past couple weeks the wife and i have been going to the Woods for beer and board game night hosted by the organizers for tooncon. There will be no warhammer this year. Tables have been filled with other games.

Wow that filled up fast. Two years ago I was invited to do a FoW but not last year.

Exactly.  I'd play either Warhammer or Flames of War.  I'd even put people up Friday night if we wanted to make it a 2-day event.  It's a bit premature to be planning this now though, it's not until fall.  A whole new edition of Warhammer will be out by then.

I'm gonna plan for that Rumble in July. I may have to look into what I need to do to convert my forces to Early or Mid war.

No worries, buddy -it's alive and well. Strong rumours of preorder for 9th edition on April 24th. I can only assume things will jump quite a bit around then.

It is true, Flames of War has been getting most of my attention lately but my game with Nathan A last night reminded me of why I still love Warhammer.  My last few games had been advance and smash type games (still fun but not that tactical) but this one involved a lot more thinking and manoeuvring.  Maybe it was just that I was using my wood elves for the first time in a long time but it was really fun.

Back on topic, are players expected to be fully painted for tournaments? I should be able to manage it by then but if so I'm going to have to ramp up the painting.

Not the ones I run. That being said I do expect both you and your opponent to easily identify platoons/companies.
