I think this is the exact one I have. It's pretty entry-level but it works. I see it's out of stock at the moment though. After I take my pictures I put them through photoshop to fix the colors because my camera sucks. It doesn't have to be photoshop though, lots of free photoediting software have auto-fix tools. If you have a good camera you can probably tweak your settings enough on the camera that you can skip that step.

On an unrelated note, I was looking at the Czech Armoured Squadron and it looks pretty fun. Cromwells with a platoon of Fireflys and they get a stormtrooper movement! Maybe after I've expanded my Brits to Early and Mid-war I'll work on that.

Where is this list? Sounds very cool!

That link will start a .pdf download from the Flames of War site, if you are opposed to links to downloads don't click it but it is legit and not pirated or anything.

I looked at that Czech list a few times and the only thing that made me nervous was the 3 tank platoons instead of 4. Looks like a fun list though!

On a similar note, I found a 6th airborne armoured recce pdf that has almost the same list as I'm currently using but with some slight differences and point values. If I were to use that pdf list I could take basically what I do currently but also a couple of centaur tanks with a Sherman escort to give me some mobile artillery support. It also lets me take 4 tetrarchs in a platoon instead of just 3 and the company commander is in a Tetrarch instead of a Tetrarch CS meaning he's got better AT. All in all, it seems like a stronger list. Are these pdf lists "legal" or are they usually replaced by the lists in the books?

This one I found on easyarmy.com and when I click "read the PDF" it links to flamesofwar.com but the file is not found. I'm guessing that's not a great sign.

No, plus you want the PDF to read Official and have a date on the front.

Mid War British Parachute Company from North Africa book:

Company HQ - 1ic & 2ic SMG teams, 3 PIATS, Mortar Section, 1 Sniper team
Parachute Platoon - HQ team, 6 Rifle/MG teams
Parachute Platoon - HQ team, 6 Rifle/MG teams
Armoured Platoon - New Zealand (Confident Veteran) - 3 Shermans
Airlanding Recce Platoon - HQ MG Team, PIAT team, 6 MG teams - All with Jeeps with passenger-fired AA MG.
Airlanding Anti-Tank Platoon - HQ team, 4 6pdrs with Jeeps

Downside, no artillery other than the two 3" mortars which will do nothing. I may struggle against other infantry lists. Other than that I think I've got more than enough anti-tank assets with the PIATS, Gammon Bombs on everything and 3 shermans. The parachute platoons should be good for holding objectives while the recce platoon can rip around or set up shop somewhere and lay down a large amount of small arms fire. I'll be cheap to buy too, I've got most of what I need already (see my post in buy and sell). Anyone else care to weigh in on the list?

I think it will do fine against lighter armour but would really struggle vs tougher armour. You probably would not see to much of it in mid-war though.

What kind of heavy armour would I be likely to see? Tigers I guess, front armour 9 and side armour 8 is a little much for my AT 10 max. Still, 1's do happen.

Just the German armour, but like I said it would be few and far between

If ya can't deal with it, ya can't deal with it. At the late war event my CHALLENGERS (AT15!) couldn't touch a Tiger at long range. It was humbling. You turn to planes and artillery when all else fails.

The British Paratroopers don't have access to those. Really, the only way for them to deal with a Tiger, regardless of what I had in the list is to either ignore it, avoid it, or hit it with everything and hope they roll a 1.

If you have to kill a tiger don't forget an infantry rush is an option. A tiger on it's own absolutely cannot stop an infantry charge and you will kill it. Course getting there takes time and an opponent might not be too cooperative. When we first started playing FoW in the early days I had an American paratrooper company with not a lot of anti armour options that weren't bazooka's and awesome hand to hand ninja skills. I feared big platoons of light medium tanks but single tigers always made me laugh like this "ha ha ha" because they weren't that big of a deal. I mean at mid war there's not a lot that can kill them but aren't they still like 400 points? We used to play 1500 so the best analogy I had was the warhammer players who'd load up on a general on a dragon or big flyer and go running them into blocks of infantry where they were almost certainly guaranteed to die.

I think your mid war list is going to be just fine against potato head tigers. I think I'd put my long flesh rod deep in you if we played with my American Tanks. And you'd love it.

I have watched my son chase Tigers with his Strelkovy - it is quite amusing

The PIATs in assault are probably my best weapon against those heavy tanks (or anything with top armour 2)

I happened across an update for the North Africa book on flamesofwar.com, is that what I should be using rather than the original book?

http://www.flamesofwar.com/hobby.aspx?art_id=4003

The only problem is, I don't know what the point of the recce jeeps are anymore. I can take 8 but there is no option to give them machine guns and the only option I have for dismounting them is at the start of the game before deployment. Does that mean that if I choose to keep them mounted that I can't dismount them in the game and I have to use the profile for "jeep" with no guns on them whatsoever? Seems like a pretty useless platoon for 300 points.

Can they dismount anytime in the game? Or just before deployment?
