Thanks, although some of what you're seeing is probably actual light reflecting.

I made some road sections tonight after my Warhammer game.  I think they'll work ok.  I made it 4' long with 5 sections.  2 sections are flat and 2 are raised about 1" with steep banks.  The 5th piece is a transition from flat to high.  The idea is that the flat sections will be for in town once I get some buildings while the raised sections are like a highway with steep ditches.  From the highway you have a fairly commanding view of the surrounding countryside but you are a bit exposed.  I'll post pictures once the glue and paint is dry tomorrow.

With the road done I think my terrain collection is pretty much complete other than some buildings. I may make some more hedgerows too as one can never have enough hedges.

kind of on topic: Apparently Battlefront, is making new terrain that is "modular" so you can mix-match it up. I'm actually not a real big fan of the pristine ceramic houses they have now.

I like the ones 4ground makes. Once I can justify $150 on toy houses I'm ordering a village worth of buildings.

They just look to clean and uniform to me. They don't look lived in. I don't "hate" them I've always felt I would weather them if I started a collection.

Here's the table Lorne and I played on tonight.  The new road is running straight down the middle

We rolled meeting engagement.  It was pretty back and forth with Lorne picking off a lot of my armour early on but then I feigned a withdrawal with my remaining Cromwells and Lorne took the bait, moving his pak 40's and infantry up out of their foxholes.  I charged back in with my Cromwells, first shooting and killing the paks Then assaulting and wiping out the infantry in the area with my Cromwells and infantry.  I had 5 assaulting infantry teams and they all hit.  The game ended with my Cromwells on an objective and Lorne failing his company morale.  A hard fought game where things looked really bleak for me for most of the game.

I make it sound as though I made a few great tactical moves, I think the reality is closer to "Lorne was getting tired of watching me blunder around so he started advancing with everything so he could kill me faster and put me out of my misery."  By sheer dumb luck it was at that moment that I started to actually formulate a game plan (4 turns in) and after that everything seemed to go in my favour.

You've got to play some games in order to win Don!  I am undefeated (4/4) in meeting engagement but I'm only 1/3 in other scenarios.

Played a game with Nathan M tonight, he used my Canadians. I lucked out and his reserves didn't come in until turn 3 and then he pretty much only got 1 platoon per turn. The slow trickle of reserves wasn't enough to stop me from closing in on the objectives. It was his first game though and I was advising him on what to do.

Painted my Motorcycle Recce platoon last night. I still need to paint the dismounted teams but I figure those can wait a bit until I'm painting the rest of the infantry. Next up I'm going to paint the captured German Halftrack so my CHQ is complete. This brings me to an interesting question. This halftrack was a captured German Sd Kfz 10/5 (2cm). Would it be painted in German colors or would they have repainted it? Would the airborne even have had access to paint behind enemy lines or taken the time to paint even if they did?

I read that they did repaint the equipment so as not to suffer from friendly fire. Someone far more knowledgeable will be along to settle this.

Makes sense. I've got it basecoated with Russian Uniform Green so maybe I'll stick with that.

I've read everything got repainted or atleast heavily emblemed as to not get hit with friendly fire, especially against air support as it was harder to see who was using equipment from the air. So for example germans would capture T-34's and paint a giant swastika on the rear engine deck. I read they had spray paint to do it all.

Sounds good. On another note, I'm thinking about selling the Canadians. I figure if I've got 2 armies one of them might as well be axis. Anyone care to talk me into or out of this idea? I priced it out and new they'd be $300. I figure I could part with them for $200.

Personally I'd hang on to them for a bit. They might appeal to you in the near future more than your British.

What do you have? They're technically British anyways. I totally understand what you mean abut having an axis army. Having those thoughts myself.

I've got:

1ic & 2ic infantry teams, 3 sniper teams
Rifle/MG platoon w/ command, light mortar, PIAT & 6 Rifle/MG teams, 2 defrocked Priests
Rifle/MG platoon w/ command, light mortar, PIAT & 6 Rifle/MG teams, 2 defrocked Priests
Rifle/MG platoon w/ command, light mortar, PIAT & 4 Rifle/MG teams, 2 defrocked Priests
A special character - CSM Stan Hollis, VC
6 universal carriers, 2 with PIATs, 4 with .50 cal MG
3 Wasp Carriers
HMG platoon w/ command, 4 HMG teams
Armoured Platoon w/ 3 shermans & 1 firefly
Armoured Platoon w/ 3 shermans & 1 firefly
SP AT Platoon w/ 4 M10 17 pdrs

3 of the Shermans are the cheap prepainted ones and I have the components to make some mortar teams as well but most of the crews are used elsewhere I think.

It makes a 1900 point Confident Trained company from Overlord or you could take some of it and make a confident veteran list from Market Garden.

I like the company and every time I have a game lined up I think about using them but I am really liking the British right now. Scott's suggestion has some merit but at the same time, it's going to be forever before I get around to painting these guys. Especially with all the infantry I think I might be better off to just take some cash for them and put that back into a cheap German company. Something like this:

2 Panzer IV
3 Panthers
3 Panzer IV
3 Panzer IV
Gerpanzerte Panzergrenadier Platoon w/ 6 MG/Panzerfaust teams, 1 command MG/Panzerfaust team and halftracks
Panzerspah Platoon w/ 2 Sd Kfz 234/2 Pumas (Recce)
Armoured Artillery Battery w/ 3 Wespes, HQ section and Panzer IV OP

I should be able to get most of that for not a lot more than $200.

Here is my company command group:

The halftrack still needs a bit of work and the lighting is a bit weird but I'm fairly happy with the results in real life.

I also took pictures of the recce platoon:

Again, weird lighting makes for weird reflections and colour but you get the idea.

Next up I'm going to be painting my 6 pdrs and the jeeps that tow them but I might also basecoat all the infantry first so I have no bare metal, I'm getting tired of seeing all the silver.

Ok, so I've been fiddling with German lists and I think I've come up with what I think I'd like to build.  I'm going for low cost:

Panzer Kampfgruppe from Desperate Measures - Confident Veterans

HQ - 2 Panzer IV w/ Assault Rifle Tank Escorts - 205
Panzer Platoon - 3 Panzer IV w/ Assault Rifle Tank Riders - 305
Panzer Platoon - 3 Panzer IV w/ Assault Rifle Tank Riders - 305
Panzer Platoon - 3 StuG G w/ Assault Rifle Tank Riders - 340
Panzer Anti-aricraft Gun Platoon - 2 Wirbelwind (Quad 2cm) - 110
Schwere Panzer Platoon - 1 Tiger I E - 215
Tracked panzerspah Platoon - 3 Panzer II L Luchs - 115
Gepanzerte Panzergrenadier Platoon - 6 MG/Panzerfaust Teams & Cmd Panzerfaust MG team - 285

Total points 1880.  20 points seems like a lot to leave on the table but I don't know what else I should add or change.

Can you bulk up the panzer platoons with the extra points?
