New Stegadon

I am not one to get excited about Lizardmen stuff, but I want to see one of these on a table:

Well apparently you can fit 9 of these bad boys into a 2250 point list.

Stegadons are everything except a core choice now, being available as a:
Mount for heroes
Special unit with skinks on top
Rare unit "linebreaker" armoured lone monster variant
Rare unit "engine of the gods" stonethrower variant

So 4 Saurus heroes mounted on Stegadons for heroes
3 minimum sized units of core
4 special Stegadons
2 Rares.

As retarded as that army would be, I reallllly hope someone in town makes it...

All that aside, this kit really reminds me of the 40k Carnifex kit. Not just because it's big and gorgeous, but it seems to have the same kind of brutal aesthetic. Also, apparently both kits come with enough pieces to build a million variants.

Cheers to better plastic kits!

I've always liked the idea of the stegadon. Hopefully more people get into Lizardmen with the new army coming out. How feasable is a close-combat Lizardman army with little/no magic though? If I were to make an army that would be the route I would try but I think I'd have to put a lord on a carnosaur too since that model is too cool-looking not to use!

Maybe this would make a cool Chaos Warshrine. I'm fumbling for ideas...

It probably wouldn't be too hard to Chaos that up... it already has lots of skulls on it and that mean Khorne-ish look on its face. Does a war shrine hit that hard though? It would look kinda funny if that beast represented something fragile.

5 S4 attacks, T6 with 4 wounds, a 4+ save and 4+ ward. Tougher than most Stegadons, but slower with no impact hits.

That is pretty tough I guess... certainly not forgeworld mammoth tough though!

The mammoth would certainly be intimidating though!

That Mammoth is crazy awesome. So, with the 12" range on the Warshrine, with this baby you could cover the whole table. If I had 2......
