Octoberfest Voting

Post  ScottRadom on Sat Nov 01, 2008 11:27 am

Okay guys clue in and start voting for some dwarfs. Nathan even tried to help the dwarf cause by doubling the options for dwarf fans and.... naughta. Competition wil be fierce this month. here goes....

This was a tough one. I really liked Carson's entry but I have to give a shout and my vote out to Nathan. I feel Nathan's Bret's are well apinted but more than that i think they show an incredible improvement from some of his earlier entries and also feature some advanced base work and a little weathering on the models.

Of course I SHOULD have voted for myself if we were just basing this on the bottom line product, but I will go against all logical reasoning and still pick Nathan. It was close and I really liked Carsons entry as I said.

But everybody else should ignore my comments and focuse on their poor picture qualities as well as unrefined techniques and pick Dwarfs for October!

My gal has been lying in bed crying uncontrollably since she found out you don't believe my "midnight oil" painting marathon. Do you realize how much shopping this is going to cost me?!

You get my vote Scott, just because of the sheer number of models as well as a character. Well done! Carson your painting is awesome as well and it was a tough choice but in the end it did come down to the amount that Scott had painted.

P.S. To be fair I think the total surface area that I had to paint this month is the most of anybody in the competition thus far!

Just explain to her that it's not that I don't believe you, I do!

It's just that I think you're lying. See the difference?

All guffs aside; Are you saying that I didn't do it-- or it couldn't be done? I think I'm p.m.s'ing as I'm in a fragile state right now... Surprised

Of course you did it! I am not seriously implying that for the glory of... well there is no real glory here... you would make up a story about painting a single model. Furthermore you are all but insisting that people don't vote for you by proclaiming your model as a rush job an by bringing attention to the fact that you didn't shade/highlight your base colors etc. Though the model does look great, I would not and can not tell it's a rush job.

Of course your entry is legit, and as further evidence I Also felt the white screen of death on the 31st so I know the deal. Hope you're not actually worried I was accusing you falsely, 'cause I would never do that on this board -cough- Rob Francis -cough-.

Your integrity is solid sir! Well done and keep up the good work for November!

Thanks, I couldn't have said it better myself! My gal wasn't entirely convinced that I should spend our Friday night, with me frantically painting a fig for an online contest with no tangible reward other than pride. Women - they'll never understand.

Hey,look at this! 8 voters so far and room to climb yet. I also say "Welcome" to the 40k'ers who've signed up over here. I asked if those intersted could come over to our site and place votes. I told them to pick dwarfs but apparently they're just as thick as the fantasy players who didn't vote dwarfs! Of course, three of you have chosen impeccably this month so far...

The Dwarfs do seem to be good this time of year. A perfect example of putting all month into painting. I wish you a happy second place for November....

Don's "Squalie" Totally Legitimate Entry of one Model (Chaos) 10% [ 1 ]

I actually laughed hard enough to choke on my coffee. I can be such an ass sometimes.

NP, I am awesomest.

Now, people, let's really rock the vote here! We've got like 30 members (I think) of this page but only around 10 votes. You don't have to drive anywhere, you don't have to weigh the issues of socialist reform vs. hard line defecit reduction or anything like that, just click on the name that did the best paintjob to tyour tastes, please!

I want this to be fun not only for the participants but for those keeping score. Voting is ANNONYMOUS so nobody can heckle you or complain about your vote. I know, I tried to peek and see which morons weren't voting for me but I couldn't.

So please let's get our voter turnout up to over 100% please!
