Date of game: 14-feb
Carson Empire vs Dwayne Legion of Chaos
number of points 2500
Result: win for Dwayne
wildcard no
painted Carson yes

For Valentine's day, there was no love lost between the Empire and Chaos. While those followers of the lesser gods wavered under cannon fire and demigryphs, the Tzeentch followers triumphed!

Date of Game - Feb - 16
Sean (Dwarf) vs Justin (Skaven)
Number of Points - 2500
Result - Crushing Win - Sean
Wildcard Challenge? No
Fully Painted? Justin

Haven't had a game in a while, was nice to get out and stretch the old dice, thank you Justin. Was a good game, classic Dwarf vs Skaven. According to Justin and Katie I "cheat" when I roll apparently but OTHER than that my shove everything forward "ish" tactic worked quite well Very Happy . Justin managed to land 3 lovely str 10 small round templates from both his warp lighting cannons on my two main combat blocks which managed to put quite a dent in them, even with a 5+ ward. Rangers still have yet to do anything for me EVER and a horde of 80 Skaven slaves looks pretty damn impressive on the table I must say! Horde, Spears, Death Frenzy and Poison attacks they rly do put out quite a lot of attacks as well.

I also played a game of Flames of War with Carson in which I managed to pull out a win. It was a bloodbath. I'm starting to really like that game!

Thanks for hosting Don, I realized after I left that I should have helped move some tables. Hopefully you didn't get left having to try to take everything down with your one good arm.

As Andre said this was the senerio from the back of the book. As a the ONLY thing that could start a dwarven civil war we were fighting over Bugmans XXX we had a cart to chase and a brewery to hold. I rly enjoy Playing these quirky senerios. Was fun, thanks for my first game Andre.

Game five
Andre vs Don khorne

Massacre i believe. Don could you confirm.

Game six
Andre vs Carson empire

Battle line. turn five should have angled my thunderers more...would

Post  nathanr on Tue Feb 24, 2015 5:53 pm

I've updated the league points and ladder standings.  I had to guess at the order of games somewhat for the ladder shuffling but I think I've got it.  There was a lot of movement at the top with Dom and Andre ending up 1 and 2 respectively (for now).  Justin is hanging onto the top average but there are a few of us nipping at his heels.  Scott actually has the best average but he's only got 2 games so that won't count for playoffs.  There's still a lot of league to go though and everyone still has a chance at making playoffs.

If you notice an asterisk beside your name on the ladder it means that you haven't paid your league fees.  Please pay Don $20 at your earliest convenience.  The league fees not only go to the league champions, half of the money collected is being saved to build a league improvement fund to pay for things like hall rentals for events, terrain improvement, promotional materials and other fun stuff. We have $90 from last league and if everyone pays their league fees for this league we'll add another $140.

Very fun game and the win for me came from a good ol fashioned terror test.  My Soulgrinder, with one wound left that was going to die from the declared stand and shoot from dozens of arrows that wound on 5's and hitting easily, actually scared the big archer unit with general and BSB, right off the table.  A very cheap win but it's in the bank!

It was a game of 'what ifs' for me. I charged a unit of mournfangs early in the game and killed all but one. I had hoped to blow through them and overrun out of countercharge range. Unfortunately Frank managed to roll insane courage, leaving him with a juicy flank charge on my silverhelms. The second 'what if' was casting okham's mindrazor on my spearmen, I got it with a 24 on 4 dice which Frank promptly dispelled with his 4 dice. Last 'what if' was after deployment I realized that I'd forgotten my frost Phoenix. Frank graciously let me add in a lion chariot and a bolt thrower but that bird sure would have come in handy. Frank played a good game though and he deserved the win.

I just realized that Frank isn't signed up for the league. Is this an oversight by me or does he not want to participate?

Fun game, blood bath that didn't end well for the dwarves. Few highlights in no specific order. His reavers charged my cannon crew and we both fluffed a combat... then we both fluffed a combat... then he finally hit and WOUNDED and I made my 6+ save... he fuffed and I swung and hit and downed a horse he fled finally!! then rallied, turned around and we continued the slap fest. End of game 3 reavers and 2 crew were left fighting. Oh we had a moment that Don had to walk away for a moment when I made 9/12 parry saves with Longbeards against his White Lions sorry Don won't happen again. Ultimately she slaughtered every dwarf off the map except 10 surrounded Ironbreakers and a cannon stuck in a slap fest. Very fun game, another to strike into the book of grudges.

This was about as vicious a game as you'll get. Pretty much no models left by end of game and units of Swordmasters against units of Chosen use a lot of dice. Very Happy

I think I have to steel up and replace the archers with Silver helms and the bolt throwers that others see value in I just can't get them to produce.

Fully Painted? Nathan A No, Nathan R yes

It was a good game and in the end Nathan A's remaining ogre unit was surrounded by the battered survivors of my wood elves. If we had played 2 or 3 more turns our remaining forces probably would have ground each other down to nothing. Nathan A is a great opponent and I hope he continues to play more games. Or at least I hope he doesn't disappear for another 4 months!

I decided to dust off my undead armies and feed them some elves.  Magic was pretty weak for both sides but my terrorgheist was very angry and definitely my MVP of the match.  The game did remind me that magic shooting is definitely not a good match up for ethereal.

Thanks for the game Nathan! It was great!

The terrorgheist did net you most of your points. It screamed away a unit of wild riders, a unit of scouts and a unit of waywatchers. I had some bad luck too as my one treeman never did successfully charge anything. Oh, other than a spirit host that was 1" away. But then he failed his overrun by 1" so it kinda evens out.

It was a good game and a well-deserved win for Dwayne.
