With the end times upon us are we going to be seeing any of the new rules or units allowed in the tournament? I for one won't be using any but it would be nice to know if I need to worry about how to take down Nagash or deal with a lore of undeath-weilding high elf archmage.

Ive thought about this but I havn't heard if these rules are campaign dependent or additions to the rulebook. If they are additions to the rulebook then we will be using them.

After a bit of reading it seems that the Nagash campaign and new rules are "optional" meaning they are optional for 8th edition but are likely to be in the 9th edition rules set. So.....for the tooncon tournament no new rules will be in effect.

With that being said I absolutely love the new warhammer fluff and campaign that they have come up. Tombkings and VampireCounts uniting under the power of Nagash to deal with Chaos:D, alot of old characters getting killed off, and a general advancement of the warhammer timeline.

I am a bit nervous of what 9th edition will look like but I really like what I seen so far......combined stats for monsters and riders cheers for example. I guess if the game is gutted...which I doubt....we'll still have 8th edition and hopefully a complete set of army books.....brets coming for sure, just leaving skaven and beastmen.

As far as I read it is a new army book it revamps the undead and turns them into one army. The new undead army is referred to as the undead legion and combines the VC and TK armies. Not sure why we would ban it, I for one would love to try it.

Right now it is in campaign format with special rules. Noone really knows if this is what the undead armies will look like in the future. With "the end times" the influx of chaos and undead allow all wizards from any army to use the new "Lore of the Undead" to raise and use undead during a game of the campaign. For the tournament we won't use these optional rules, but it could be alot of fun to use these for the campaign.

Time will tell wether this will stay in permanent form for 9th....

The new Undead figs out are ....amazing.....

So can we play with the new characters and the new armies and spells or is all of that not available? Just need to know if I need to return the stuff I bought or not?

We won't be using anything from the end times books for this tournament. It would not be fair to any of the players that have not seen the new material or have had no experience against it yet. Also.........not really sure if the new material is all that balanced for tournament play.

Soooo, you bought expensive models and books just for Tooncon? And then you'll take them back if you can't use them for that one single weekend?

Do I have that right?

Reason #71 that you're a doorknob.

Keep in mind that there are at least 70 others....
