Vampire Counts new player projects

Post  Druchi on Thu May 15, 2014 8:33 am

Greetings from the Grave

So, I am wanting to start a brief document of my foray into Vampire Counts.
Already I have picked up about 60ish Skeletons, 50ish zombies, 40ish ghouls, 10 Black Knights (or hex wraiths depending how I paint them up), a Terrorghiest, and a Wight King.

Everything is assembled, and I am working through the long tedious process of gluing sand to all my bases. I am hoping that the sanding will be done this weekend and I can move onto the priming part so I can actually start my painting.

Now that I have my initial post done, I can move onto posting pictures (I am at work right now so it will be later on, unless I can get it working on my phone).

Added more colors to my Skeletons.
I can say with all honesty that this is going to be quite the endeavor to get painted. I thought it would go pretty fast, but I was completely mistaken. Plus, after these 10 I have 50 more to do... lol

Oh yeah, I was aware of what I was getting into when I chose undead. But, once they are eventually all painted I am hoping they turn heads on the tabletop.

I'll be applying my leadbelcher tonight to those 10, and then maybe start my washes. That should really make them pop. Just wanted to get all my base colors down first before I started to wash.

640x480 works really well.

Just try zooming out in your browser. Its just cuts your pic down to size if its larger than the rest

Here is another update(s):

Got my leather base down and then washed the bone and the blue cloth.

I really like how washes make the model just so much better. Might even be tempted for future skeletons to just stop after the washes, though my process will be different so they don't look so uneven.
