GW Liquid Geen stuff - anyone try it?

Post  squalie on Sat May 03, 2014 5:30 pm

Well? I bought a few Mierce models and I want to see if this stuff works before possibly making a mess of these.

I used it for the first time on the cake topper I made. Worked really well. It dries quite coarse so if you want a smooth finish you'd need to sand it afterwards. I used a disposable makeup brush to put it on, my wife has a ton of them so I didn't think she'd miss them.

It even works for sculpting in the right situation. I extended and created some new roots for the tree using it, the unique way you brush it on helps get a seamless transition between the existing model and the new sculpted areas. I recommend it!

Of course I haven't used it since, I'll probably go to use it in a couple months and it'll be dried solid and then I'll be upset and say its shit. Only time will tell.

You used it straight out of the pot? Have you tried thinning it?

I need it to be smooth. The bloody models are way too expensive to screw up.

You know what - I've gone this far, I'll just buy some and experiment.

Thanks for the replies!

I've used it a little, not bad. I prefer milliput standard (at the den I think) and that stuff mixes with water as well. It should work for you just fine.

What mini's did you buy from Mierce?

I've painted up the dude with the two handed axe before. It's a very high quality range for sure. I just don't like the big fuck-a-doo about them screwing everyone over in their last iteration. Great mini's though!

I only bought Euryalia, directly from Mierce. Everything else is from Noble Knights games in the USA. No issues at all with each.
