question regarding unusual models in a squad

Post  judchic on Sun Apr 27, 2014 12:26 am

While I was at adepticon I noticed lots of people had a larger showcase model with their stock troops. Normally it was on a bigger base (4 normal bases worth) and they would just count it as 4 models, removing it when it became awkward. Is that ok to do here?

For sure it is. It gives people a chsnce to modify something unique and give a personal touch to their unit/army theme. I would just let your opponents know at game start which are unit fillers to clarify wether they are a real special unit or not and if they can be counted in the true line of sight rule. I always find it is better to inform an opponent of your intent before an action in game occurs if it may become a 'scope of rule' discussion.

Heh... And I deliberately went through my post making sure it didn't sound like I came from 40k.
My title betrayed me.

*chuckle*, I thought the same thing. Andre gave you good advice, unit fillers are awesome provided they are done respectfully.

I can't imagine the extend of the hazing and public shaming that will happen when he refers to his army book as a CODEX!
