New to Vampire Counts

Post  Druchi on Thu Apr 17, 2014 10:30 pm

Hey guys. Decided I want to collect a small fantasy army and am having some questions.

Are you guys okay with using non GW figs for armies, like the Mantic miniatures skeles zombies and ghouls?
What vampire lord should I buy from GW to be a generic vampire lord? I looked at the GW shelf at the Den but only saw named dudes.

named figs are what everyone generally uses to represent characters. Non gw figs are totally cool to use.

I am personally fine with someone using any minis they want, regardless of brand as long as the look proper. Mantic zombies look like zombies, so as long as your playing them as zombies there couldn't possibly be any confusion.

The only thing I don't like is when people use proxies that can be mistaken for other things, but that wasn't your question so I'll stop there.

Yeah. That kind of proxy thing gets me to. I'm okay with a proxy if it's a really expensive model but it would have to be agreed upon by both parties.

I'm liking the look of the mantic miniatures zombies, skeleton, and ghouls.

I've got basically an entire mantic undead army (completely unpainted, unprimed, partially assembled) that I could sell for a very good price if you were interested in getting some.

Mantic undead are awesome - I love the evil dead look.

What's your price?
If you can hold them for a bit I may not be coming into any money for a little bit yet but if the price is right I'd just buy yours instead of buying new. Just PM me the details.

Yeah the evil dead look. That's it right there.

I'd stil buy some GW figs like the coven throne and vampires and shit but would probably be mantic for ghouls skeles and zombies. Maybe the black knights to. Lol.

So, where are the write ups on regiment organization?
I am really fuzzy on how to organize my troops. Like, do I go 5 wide, 7, 10... 2... 3.... 4....
lol
Curse my newness to this game.

The wonderful thing about warhammer is there is no one answer for that question. You need to be at least five wide to count ranks. Everything more than than is totally up to you.
