I flippin hate kickstarters....

...having written that, I'm actually surprised this hasn't been done before! I'm totally on board for this. Man, would those be handy. Plus, it'll muffle dice rolling a little.

Very much like it!

You basically "invest" in a starter project and receive a "package" depending on how much you invest. Usually.

It's totally secure and no kickstarter has ever failed. What a Face

Hm - I think I actually like this product better.  Certainly the price anyways.

The only downside is the stuff that Geoff linked appears to be that rubber that would stick to a movement tray like crazy when you were trying to move them.  Uber surface tension. Of course I could be wrong.

I've played on the Zuzzy gamemats. They're made of a heavy latex rubber. They come unpainted, but retain paint very well. Don is correct, in that the texture will 'grab' a few movement trays, much like a heavily sanded board would.
I've looked at this MegaMat kickstarter as well, and have concluded that it doesn't feel like a reasonable price for me. It appears to be printed lino, right? if you search long enough at flooring manufacturers, I'll bet you could find some appropriate image to use on a gaming table (and probably get enough for 4 tables at $100).
