Scourgerunner Chariot Harpoon

Post  nathanr on Wed Nov 20, 2013 5:48 pm

Hey guys, the new Dark Elf book has a unit called the Scourgerunner Chariot. It is crewed by two dark Elves who each have a repeater crossbow (24" range, 2x multiple shots, S3 AP). The chariot itself also has a Ravager Harpoon which acts as a S7 bolt thrower that can be fired even if the chariot moves. Now, the harpoon is listed as part of the chariot's equipment. My question is, can both crew fire their repeater crossbows AND then fire the harpoon?

Both crew are not required to fire the harpoon because you have the option to mount a character in the chariot and the harpoon can be fired even if he dies. My thought is that you use 1 crew to fire the harpoon leaving the other free to fire his repeater crossbow but I'd be interested to hear what others think.

What would be the rule against them all firing? Curious.

I just figured that someone has to shoot the harpoon. Maybe the horses?

One Elf akimbos the repeater xbows while the other fires the harpoon.

Just model one elf with 2 xbows and no one will ever question it!

Don't have the main rulebook with me, but there must be somewhere where they talk about each part of the model shooting. I was curious about that for things like the OK monsters, so the rules must be there. Maybe the ridden monster rules (which chariots use)?

So after looking, I did not manage to find anything in the main rules either. I'd say, judging from the model that it takes one crew to fire the harpoon (its essentially a really big crossbow) leaving the other free to fire his repeater crossbow. Alternately I could choose not to fire the harpoon and both could fire their crossbows.

I would think they could fire all. Nothing says they can't?

I wouldn't stress about the details, they're quick elves after all.

I'm good either way, I just don't want anyone to feel like I'm cheating. I mean, I'll cheat if I can get away with it but I don't want to be so blatant that I get caught.Very Happy
