hey, your coming along. I see you used some cork on the bases. Try building up some sand on the base and sides of the cork to even it out and create the look of rock sticking out of the ground.

Thanks Carson! Yeah i was trying to figure out what to do with the edges. Sand painted black would blend it very well. Thx

Hey Sean, the Bloodletters look great, very vivid.  The only suggestion that I have is that they look a little too monochromatic (all red).  That isn't necessarily a bad thing, (they are Khorne after all) but maybe try using some washes to give a little more visual interest to the different "materials" like scales, skin, horn, tongues etc.

I'd use a purple wash on the tongues to start and see how that looks, then maybe hit the horns with a black or dark brown wash.  It will keep the red but just give each part a bit of a different tone with minimal effort.

Maybe you have already done this and it's just not coming through in the picture, that's entirely possible since I've heard that photographing red is difficult for most cameras. In that case, disregard this advice.

yeah thanks nathan. they are alot more detailed in person. they are still pritty red, but when you see them they pop more. i tried taking a dozen or so pictures but everythign turned out BRIGHT RED. the swords too have a touch more detail then just black. next event ill bring them, advice is always welcome!

My model for this month is an Orc warboss on wyvern.

I think most of you guys saw it this weekend but for those that didn't I'll post a pic in the next couple days here.

How's everyone doing this month? I don't want to have to put frowny faces by anyone else's name!

Don, you get more work done on the white lions?
Carson, you posted a bunch of stuff in your project blog, was any of it for this challenge?
Clark, did you paint any more ogres?
Dom, you finish off those skeletons?
Justin, you get those temple guard done?

I've been working on both the white lions and the skycutter chariot. I made the mistake of converting and priming 9 realm knight for the chaostonnians. Ate up some good painting time.

I should have them finished by the 30th. Might not be based though.

Technically, since you painted a character last month you shouldn't be able to paint a single mini again this month but since you also painted a character, a monster and 5 infantry I'm going to let it slide.

Ok, did everyone get done? I'm already starting on my scourge runner chariot for December. It is coming along quickly so I may also do some dark riders or warlocks. We'll see.

Very cool Don. How has the sky cutter performed for you in games? Is it worth it?

I, uhhh - have never used it. I technically proxied it once and it got shot by an ironblaster turn 1.

Just liked the model and had exactly 95 points left in my list. Very Happy

my only question is if the flying Elven Balsa Wood chariot collides with a small sparrow mid air... who'd survive? lol

So for this month i can't decide if i wana paint 10 Daemonettes or 1 Stank. but its definatly one of those things, i wana get my empire army rolling thats for sure! i even bought grass and tufts so i can base my Empire properly. any tips on painting rocks? using cork and want grey slabs of rock
