Thanks Carson, I'm really happy with the progress so far; 90 models down and only like 30 more to go! I should be wrapping this up fairly soon I think.

Good job Nathan, good to see you pickin away at that army.

I just finished the White Lions tonight, BUT I realized I don't have any of the GW snow to finish my bases!  I may not have snow on the bases by the 31st.  Sorry guys. Oh ya, I'm officially sick of painting gems....

I have some Galeforce 9 snow I bought from the Den. If it matches, I'll finish them tomorrow night, I just wasn't sure if all snow products look the same or not.

But the gems look really good. You've captured the glow.

I wasn't super happy with it, so mess around with it before you use it on your bases.

I figured as much. Even if I could get them to look the same intially, there's no saying how the snow would "age".

Pic of my entry from last month finally:

Pics of my entry from this month:

Need to seal the bases - the crackle basing is pretty fragile but I like it. Going to add some tufts of grass once it's sealed too.

I used a lot, but I kind of like it. I'll have to see how well it seals when I dullcoat it. As it stands, it's too fragile (knew it would be), but I like how it looks.

You have to layer it on thick for sure, but the secret I accidentally found when I spilled water on the character is that you need to water it down well to get a good cracking effect. Without the water, the cracking was inconsistent and unimpressive.

Looks good Carson. Man, I have to do more unit fillers - when done right they really just add that extra "something".

This month saw a couple people drop out. I realize that December can be a busy month for people so I'm going to give them an opportunity to get back into the game. If Sean and Justin can paint 3 months worth of stuff in January they are back in. That 3 month quota only includes 1 monster, character or war machine though. No easy way out.
