Lots of people mount their wild riders on wolves, you could also use the werewolf models from forgeworld as treekin I suppose and Orion can be fielded with hounds which could be wolves as well. Also if you took Orion the wild riders would be core so you could really load up on them. I'm not sure how effective that would be but it could look cool. Although the problem with making a specialized force like that is that if a new book should come out and the wild rider as core rule was removed you'd be left with an unusable force. Plus I know Don has an aversion to special characters, even useless overpriced ones like Orion.

Anyway, all this is wildly off-topic. I'm really looking forward to the tournament tomorrow, I've even painted up some new dryads for the occasion. I'm bringing some big guns with 2 treemen and a dragon! Stay out of the forest...

It was a fun day with atleast two good games. It was really refreshing to play an army that just wants to close the door instead of running all over the place. Thanks for another great tournament carson

One of my big game problems is that I'm too impatient and want to get into combat often too soon with armies that can't do that. You really play the wood elves good, which is tough to do.

It was a great day. nothing like spending the day with friends throwing dice.

Had a great time and no matter how much Warhammer i Play it seems like it's never enough.  I was very impressed as I didn't see a single incident of poor play or bad attitude.  Was a great day and all 3 games were great games.  My only disappointment is not getting in games with everyone.  The supper afterwards was almost as fun.

First game against Dom, and his Ogres beat up my poor dead dudes but was a very good game and it looked closer than the points would show. Even though my Ushabti died, they were MVP.

Next game against Nathan was a good game as games always are with Nathan. I would think that as it was a massacre for me. My skull catapults were pretty accurate against his treeman and Dragon.

Last game against Carson and his O&G saw carson extending his hand by turn 4 or so.  His Orcs lost combat on his right flank after getting charged by Chariots.  His flee angle was such that his Orcs ran through around 6 units causing a few of them, in turn, to run.  Since I just needed to park my units on the hill and just wait for some of his army to stop running it was pretty much over.

Truly surprised I won, but glad and proud that I did - with Tomb Kings!! (Sorry, just had to mention that)

Can't wait for Tooncon and I'm taking Friday afternoon off and staying the whole darn weekend.

And of course, most of these events just wouldn't happen if it wasn't for Carson always putting on a great show with good prizes.  He's a good man and I think he deserves a round of applause!!
