Plus tournament games usually go quicker since both players are usually more focused on playing warhammer rather than just hanging out and leisurely playing a game.

I have all week next week off as I'm having laser eye surgery on monday. Depending on how I'm feeling next week we could possibly play a warmup game and time it. I'm willing to bet that we can get through a game in under 3 hours.

I would feel more comfortable if you were willing to do this Nathan. I am more concerned about the fun for my opponent, than myself. I don't want them to feel cheated, because I usually have a strong early game.

I'll let you know next week. Hopefully my eyes heal quickly so I'll be able to see for the tournament. I know my army list well enough that I won't need to be checking anything but seeing my dice might be an issue.

I hear you, those rats take some time to shift! I may not speak for everyone but I personally wouldn't feel cheated, sometimes games get cut off short and that's just the way things are. If it looks like that is going to be the case I'll usually try to pull out some high-risk/high-reward maneuvers to snag some quick points and hope for the best. Those usually make the game more interesting anyway so its win-win.

Aaaaaand, of course I just have to comment. Trevor - it's totally cool. Games not going to turn 6 in a "tourney" setting is common. Plus, even more importantly, you're with friends who could care less. Just show up and have fun. Heck, we'll even help.

No worries, lad!

It is nice to see the support!

I do have a system of sorts to help speed this up because I've played enough games now. I am starting to not remove models from the fight until it actually impacts the game. I keep a count with dice on the edge of the table, and once all the wounds, stomps, and other effects are done, I then remove them and put them into my container in an organized fashion. My movement trays are mostly broken up into 10's, so it is relatively quick, and I've been putting the casualties in my storage bin, so I can just pick them up and move them to a new table. Even with all this though, it still takes time.

It takes much more time to set up than to rip down, because of all the units I have to deploy, and usually 2 to 6 characters. Setting up 300 models spanning over 15 units takes much more time than 40 Ogres. So do the battles of this many units, as it is usually a blood bath.

Maybe I will play with some lists and see what I come up with. I just hope I do not upset anyone by playing there. I know how serious some people get at these things.

Would there be any issues in this tournament if I came with two half assembled models? I literally would have to tell you what they are... Not totally obvious. Or would that be not cool? I won't have time to paint them both, and I can't assemble them until they are painted.
Sad

I'm assuming you mean your warp lightning cannons? It's fine with me as long as they are always warp lightning cannons for the whole tournament!

One PlagueClaw and one Warplightining... They are different but look the same. I can put one on its end tho to make it taller so it is more obvious.

Just make sure that your opponent is absolutely clear which is which and as long as its not Kermit the frog or Lego go for it(yes that has been an issue before).

After tonight's game, I decided to pull the Plagueclaw Catapult, so it will be two WLCs. Should be a no brainer now.

No, skittles is a term for Tomb King skeletons - unless you want skeletons? Very Happy

I'm in with some skaven if there's still space. Wasn't sure I'd have them ready in time. Smile

I was excited for a RoR tourney but it makes sense for a master's to be 2.5k I guess. I'm in with vampires if there is room.

Won't make it. By 9am hadn't even made Chamberlain. Roads terrible and drivers won't go over 40km, making a convoy of 20+ cars, all of which I'm sure were pissed off at an old lady in the front that shouldn't be on the road anyways. People should pull the f*** over if you can't handle these roads........sorry, rant over.

Super pissed off and had a big box of Ju-jubes and bags of beef jerky. Oh ya, and a totally winning Tomb Kings army! Wink

Good luck to everyone and I'd like to set up a gamesday in Moose Jaw in mid to late May. FYI.
