It is very cool, the 25 point rare restriction means no rare for bretonnians and 50 point special means no pegasus knights and only 1 questing knight but the core choices are ok I guess. I definitely want to give it a try!

TLDR. What's it about?

All I know is I want to go to Nottingham.

It is essentially killteams for warhammer fantasy. Pretty sweet actually. I've spent the morning making up a list for each of my armies and I think I like my Bretonnian one the best despite my previous post.

The Wood Elves have it the worst out of my 4 armies (dwarfs, high elves, bretonnians & wood elves) since you can only have 25% of your models armed with a ranged weapon. It really reduces the choices since almost everything in the book has a longbow. I managed to figure something out but it probably isn't too competitive.

It would be great to run this as an introductory night or just as a change from the norm. I imagine games would go pretty quick, especially with little to no magic phase.

I'd like to see it as just a fun thing to do.

I know that I'm definitely going to paint up a force for each of my armies, and I may actually try to put one together for each race in warhammer. I can see it being a really quick and fun alternative to a full game and it can get people into the hobby for pretty much nothing.

Even Scott could paint up 6-8 models and get in on it!

Why would I have to paint up a "force"? Could I just use the models I already have?

Definitely, I'm just thinking about doing some conversions though and making them a little more visually interesting and thematic than the stock models.

I did like Nathan did last night and did up an team for each of my armies.

Some neat possibilities.

've played skirmish warhammer before with the path to glory system they had out years ago. It is really fun, I'm in for sure.

That is an awesome idea, several years ago they tried this at 500 points and it worked pretty well. But that was more of a large unit with characters.

Love this, worked at getting together models I liked for an orc and goblin list. Anyone interested in getting some games in this weekend? Wouldn't mind an excuse to waste a few hours.

Because WS4 S4 T4 A2 I6 models with a 5+ ward save aren't beyond amazing in this format?

I have to say I respectfully disagree. A Wood Elf player could take nothing but Dryads and smash face.

They are also the ONLY army in the entire game that can make any use of the 25% rare points (and Waywatchers are amazing).

Except that 8 dryads is incredibly boring. I bet it would work incredibly well but it just doesn't seem as fun to play with or against.

2 Glade Guard and 6 Dryads is probably pretty good. If they don't need 2 shooting models, there's more flexibility for WEs (such as a waywatcher and wardancers who are also awesome), but 8 12 point models (cheapest they have) is the only way to get 2 shots in the army.
