I'll definitely be picking those up for my horde!, Not quite sold on the shamen though.

I don't like the banner. The shamen is meh, but the rider is great. Sadly my last couple of FW experiences have been ballsack awful. I got some Death Korps stuff, a unit of ten guys with an awful amount of problems. Out of three tallarn snipers I would paint zero of them. I'm sure when I start hassling them (I told myself I'd wait until Jan 15th when they're sheer volume dies down) they'll do something but I don't like ordering from ANY company that doesn't have my confidence.

I'm curious as to why you don't like them? I really like the banner, the squig is hella cool and the Shaman is certainly unique. I think if the smoke, or whatever it is, was a contrasting color that would probably help. I like that they're having fun with the Goblin Shaman.

Forge World paint jobs never do the models justice. Not sure who paints them though.

I also like the banner, and the shaman.

The mini holding the banner is meh-ish. The banner to me isn't good, it's just big. It just doesn't look like a mini I would want to paint. Likewise on the Shaman. It's a cool concept and all, just doesn't tick my boxes.

That squig rider though is very nice.

GW stuff is getting to the overwrought stage where it's too ridiculous and stylized.

Like the new big stupid War Altar. I love over-the-top as much as the next guy, but it's too much.

A lot of the recent GW and FW stuff has really left me cold.

This BSB and Shaman are perfect examples of that.

"Give him a big banner!"
"Bigger!"
"Two banners!"
"Skulls!"
"Perfect!"

"Make smoke coming out of his mouth!"
"Make smoke coming out of his hands!"
"Make smoke coming out of his ass!"
"Lift him into the air on fucking smoke!"

Ick.

Games Workshop figures used to inspire me. Something like this still gives me a fizz in the loins:

Maybe it's just me, but although a lot of the newer stuff may be technically better sculpts, with more "character," but I find them very unimaginative and silly. Totally lacking in what I would consider the actual character of the game.
