Sorry I had to ditch and leave you guys with odd numbers. I'll try to do better next time!

I'm guessing then that Darren played one non-league game against Kelly?

yes yes, sorry i did not reply earlier. Used a new list against Chaos and it did well as my general and Salamanders were sent packing and my shooting, spells, and armour saves did well and the Lizards gaind a crushing victory.

Darren, what were you running in that list? Kelly was trying to tell me on the way home, but got pretty confused. Sounded like a good list.

it is a list i picked up from a pod cast, two units of skinks with Kroxigors, a unit of Saurus, Chameleons, Stegadon, and Slamanders. lead by a old blood on a carnasaur how ever you spell that, a priest on a stegadon, and a scar-vet bsb.

a fast army with alot of shots, worked well and i was happy with results.

Darren and I faced off for the third time this league. We played meeting engagement with me getting first turn and neither my giant or arachnarok showing up. Darren had one unit of skinks with two kroxigors off the table. It was looking like a fine mash-up in the middle with my horde of orcs being charged by his general on carnasaurus, a stegadon and his bsb unit of lizards. Both used dispel scrolls early to fend off some potentially dangerous magic foot of gork and chain lightning. Turn three his only caster succumbed to wounds caused by my feedback scroll taking away any future magic phase. My black orcs helped out in the middle mash-up killing a stegadon while getting flank charged by darren's ancient stegadon. The black orcs turned to face the ancient in time to watch a mangler squig plow right through him. There were also fanatics running amok causing wounds to both sides but eventually running through darrens salamanders first one way then back destroying them completley. Meanwhile a new fight was brewing on the far side where after the foot of gork stomped half a unit of skinks and two kroxigors to paste, darren elected not to put the remainder against my arachnarok. So I redirected into the second unit and slowly wittled them down getting a supporting charge from some spider riders. The middle was still locked up with my orcs getting some help from another unit of spider riders and a giant. My general shaman was imbued with +3 strength +3 attacks and a 6+ ward decided to take on darrens general and found himself carnie snacks. In the end however my orcs flexed there muscles (with some good parries and wiffs from darren) to earn a massacre losing only 300 pts. Neither were fully painted and it was a ladder match but our third game so 6-3 for me and I take his spot.

I managed 6 games this weekend, first up was against Dom's wood elves which saw me marching into a withering storm of arrows in a battle for the pass. In the end Dom won fairly convincingly, I don't think it was a crushing defeat but it was close.

Second Darren and I fought over a watchtower, his lizards were feeling especially cowardly as Darren could not pass a cold-blooded leadership test to save his life. Victory for me.

Third up was against Don and the tomb kings. We once again played battle for the pass. Magic played a huge role for me and I was able to pull out a victory.

I also got 3 non-league games including one against Shaun's warriors of chaos. It was a fun game and featured a particularly bloody round of combat between a unit of spearelves with mindrazor facing a unit of forsaken with always strike first. Over 25 models died in 1 round of combat but the elves came out on top. Too bad the rest of the game didn't go as well for me. It was still fun though.

Thanks to Don for hosting yet again. I'm looking forward to the megabattle in a couple of weeks now. Once everyone posts their games here I'll update the ladder. Make sure you post the games in the order you played them.

Don, Dom and Darren, I need your game results so I can update the ladder!

On a similar note, should this league season be done? Are people wanting to start up a new one after the megabattle? Let me know and I'll set it up. Otherwise this league will run until February 28th.

I should be ready with my Skaven by that time for the next league. Is there some final playoffs or something that happens at the end of the league? Or does it just end?

vs Jamie - i got beat but with a battle that swung but in the end i was sent packing
vs Dom - it went bad, worse, and destroyed he was painted i do belive (league?)
vs Shawn - was a battle, but a good fight and a draw in the end.

good times and still need to learn a few more tricks, left early as the numbers fell. thank you all for the games, no matter the result always something new. Don, always worth the trip and thank you again, and i finaly killed your casket.

I may have the order wrong:

vs Darren - crushing loss, I was painted, Darren had Mournfang for Stegadons. Ha! Probably cheated.
vs Sean - loss, non league, I was painted - he's started though! Tricked me I think.
vs Nathan - loss, both painted - can't recall how bad the loss was. Pretty bad I think. Lost on purpose as I felt sorry for him.
vs Eric, watchtower - didn't matter, his Tomb Kings stomped my Tomb Kings even deader. Total loss. He paid me to lose - Easy $20.
vs Dom - WIN, Haaaaa, suck it - ruler of the Universe!!! Woooohoooo!!! I keep telling him this world is no place for Wood Elves, but Noooooo, he just doesn't get it! Smash, went the Tomb Kings! Splurch, went the Wood Elves! It was sooooo gross what happened to those Woodies!!! All of his dead dudes are in my army now, cool huh?!

Loooooooser!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, couldn't help it. Very Happy

Dom and I played a watchtower game last night. He started with a unit of archers in the building and lots of other stick chuckers on the left flank with dryads a treeman and war dancers putting the squeeze on the other flank. I set up a blockade of orcs to meet the right flank backed up with my giant and arachnarok my black orcs formed a tin wall for two hordes of night goblins. The first couple turns were posturing for charges and dom raining arrows upon my 'night shrouded' black orcs. My two units of night goblins only managed 2 wounds on the building out of 80 shots and my tin wall was disappearing. I brought one unit close enoughto squeeze fanatics through a gap and send them at Doms back row archers while my manglers circled around the far side of the hordes.

We had a big mash up on the other side with both of us taking wounds and holding to slug it out. I got some help from a flank charge of spider riders. Magic was a non factor in this game the few spells that got by dispell dice were low augments. Once my fanatics were released that unit attacked the building and the black orcs continued to escort the 2nd unit at the archers releasing more fanatics once close then withdrawing back to help at the watchtower. My fanatics get mvp for managing to not run into each other and softening up Doms archers for my few remaining black orcs(they did get help from the manglers approach stopping him from flank charging me.

My orc mob proved sufficient numbers to stop Dom supporting his tower unit and my night goblins managed to push them out and claim the building. Victory for the the green tide, mork must have been watching as I had no funny business in the entire game and the fanatics were 'guided'. Dom and I have played many times so 2pts each but I take back my spot.

Matt and I played 3 games Wood Elves vs Wood Elves, as I was teaching him how to play:

Game 1: Scenario 1 - 1500 points - Draw
Game 2: Scenario 1 - 1500 points - Minor Victory to me
Game 3: Scenario 3 - 1500 points - Major Victory to me

Matt is learning very quick and starting to understand the importance of deployment, what units he needs to kill as priority, which to stay away from and delay, etc... On Friday I am going to send a weak Skaven list (if there actually is a weak list) after the Wood Elves so he can see how the Wood Elves fight against block infantry to prep him for Saturday's Mega Battle.

Isn't that the truth? Laughing There really isn't that much to say. Ogres vs. Tomb Kings = bad day for TK. Ironblaster shot casket, which detonated a few units of mine and Hellheart caused a few "issues" with my 2 lvl 4 Lich Priests. Chariots bounced and my non-marching units couldn't get to where they needed to be. Him getting Trollguts off every time without fail caused a lot of issues too. A Warsphinx would have been a LOT better with breath and more attacks. Hm.....Sphinx army. Wink

The Irony is Stalkers would have been great.

Matt is using half of my Wood Elf army to learn the mechanics of the game. I have enough Wood Elves to make two really balanced 1500 point armies (probably have enough to make two 2000 point armies, but want to keep the games shorter in length for learning purposes).

He is still assembling the High Elves he got from Island of Blood, and will be buying more soon. He wants to run his High Elves in the next League.
