New Empire...
Like I needed another damn choice for an army. I loves trinkets and Beasts - and apparently Empire has trinkets and Beasts.

I'm a happy man today, love the griffon knights. Can't wait to play Empire again.

Re: New Empire...
I like the new stuff but why is the Griffon so big? It is almost comically oversized compared to any other griffon and looks like it should have a way better statline than it does. Oh well, its a cool model and hopefully they give it some options (armour) that will make people actually want to take it.
Hopefully the horses pulling the new machines and war alter will be available to buy separately, they'd make for some sweet knight mounts.

That's exactly what I thought "comically oversized".
So I can either jump on the band wagon and start Empire or start VC as the attention will be off them now.

Re: New Empire...
I have read a couple of reviews from people that have actually read the book who have not just read the rumours and gotten all sour. Most of it is good, most of it has been a much needed balancing act for what used to be a very easily abused armylist.
From what I know
Witch Hunters are awesome! Sniping enemy characters with killing blow shots is going to make them a must have in every army!
Captains and Generals now more expensive but give the unit they lead the "Hold the Line!" rule which is basically a break test on 3d6 picking the lowest 2, kinda like Lizardmen.
Core infantry is almost all 1pt more expensive per model. Detachments and much better now as they benefit from all the rules that the parent unit has(something like that). I don't know if this includes things like magical banner upgrade bonuses though?
Flagellants apparently got nerfed but I don't agree, they are more expensive but their martyr rule is better now. They are more expensive now which is really causing alot of whining.
New rare chariots/magical machines are dirt cheap for what they do points wise and can really benefit your core
Mortar isn't as strong but still uses the big template, it also got more expensive, same with cannons on the last note.
Steam Tank is cheaper, less tough, but now seemingly more reliable, especially when you just want to run enemies over.
That is most of what I can think of right now, I am trying to find a good review to post here.

Going to be a hard army to play.
Poor internal balance. A Cruddace book, like the TK list.
The Griffon has a giant model because it has different stats because it's a different monster.

How so? I kinda thought, from what I've read, that the things that needed to be tamed - were, and the rest seemed like a nice balance. Nothing crazy, but most things very usable. What books should be IMO.
I think calling this another TK could be unfair - at least for now.
